Comparison of SNS and ANS
SNS uses both somatic sensory and somatic
motor neurons
Somatic sensory neurons conduct stimulus

Somatic motor neurons innervate skeletal muscle
fibers.
ANS also utilizes sensory and motor neurons.
Visceral sensory neurons provide input to activate
the ANS
Visceral motor neurons innervate smooth muscle,
cardiac muscle, and glands
