On your answer books supplied, answer the following questions on Building Services Drawing and Cad:- (a) Indicate on a Structural Steel building where a UNIVERSAL BEAM (UB) and a UNIVERSAL COLUNN (UC) would be used. (b) Indicate on a brief sketch, how PVC CORREGATED ROOF SHEETING is secured to PORTAL ROOF FRAMES. (c) With a sketch, indicate where INSULATION is placed in a CAVITY WALL CONSTRUCTION. (d) Sketch a RAKER PILE. (e) Can a drawing in DOS called PUMP. BAK be brought up in AUTOCAD? (f) Indicate 3 ways of joining PIPES together. (g) What is a WALLPLATE? (h) What is the standard rise and thread of an internal STAIRSCASE? (i) What is the difference between a BLOCK and a WBLOCK in Autocad? (j) What is an ANGLE CLEAT? (k) What is the standard fall for drainage pipes? (l) Sketch how DAMPROOFING is done over a window on a typical cavity block wall. Shown on attached (FIG.1.) is a drawing of a portion of a Plan view of an Industrial Factory Loading Bay, with a ramp to the upper level. Draw the following:- (a) the portion of the Plan shown on Fig .1 (attached). (b) indicate the external drainage from the WC, WHB, and SHOWER, showing GT’s, MH’s, AJ’s, etc where required. The 100 mm. dia. PVC drain is to run in a west direction, under the path running beside the Ramp. (c) indicate a suitable position for a Boiler House, to cater for the heating system for the Office and Toilet shown on Fig.1., and 3 Offices overhead on the First Floor Level (not shown.). Show positions of Radiators on the Ground Floor Office, and Toilet. NOTE:- Where dimensions have been omitted use the Scale given on Fig.1. attached. WBLOCKS may be used for standard items like door opes, windows etc. Save your work onto a floppy disc on A:drive under the title PIPING DWG. (50 Marks) 3. Sketch freehand, on answer books supplied, the ELEVATION and CROSS SECTION of a typical INDUSTRIAL ELEVATOR. Include each of the following in your sketch:- (a) Where the DRIVE would be installed. (b) Indicate what the DRIVE would have to consist of in equipment (i.e. MOTOR etc.), if the speed of the ELEVATOR was 360 RPM, taking it that the speed of a MOTOR is 1440 RPM. (c) Indicate SPROCKETS. (d) Show SHAFTS. (e) Indicate CHAINS and BUCKETS. Show on an exploded view how the BUCKETS are attached to the CHAIN. (f) Show BEARINGS. (g) Indicate an INTAKE HOPPER, and an OUTLET CHUTE. (h) Show a material CONVEYOR BELT at the outlet. (25 Marks)
