Description: The genetic material DNA is under constant attack from the environment. There are two parts in this animation. The first half of the animation illustrates how DNA is damaged by reactive free radical and is protected by SOD/CAT. The second half shows methylation by the endogeneous cofactor S-adenosyl methionine (SAM). The methylation damage is reversed by action of by alkytransferase such as AGT. All the enzymes involved are represented by cute mice
