The polar diameter of the Earth is slightly less than the equatorial diameter. How would the moment of inertia of the Earth about its axis of rotation change if some mass from near the equator were removed and transferred to the polar regions to make the Earth a perfect sphere?

Statement is clear, please answer.

The moment of inertia would decrease. This would result in a higher angular speed of the earth, shorter days, and more days in the year!

Equatorial diam would be the aloofness bringing down with the planet (or even another sale paper-kind problem) inside the equator (usually some sort of side to side minimize).
