For a helicopter to be stable as it flies, it must have at least two propellers. Why?

Why helicopter need two propellers?

There needs to be a couple rotors to help balance the torques figure on the whirlybird. If this received merely one windmill, the actual powerplant would likely increase the risk for physique from the chopper for you to swing about easily with angulate impulse other on the blades.

"The main rotor produces lift by re-directing the flow of air downward. Due to the torque created from spinning the main rotor, with just the main rotor the helicopter's fuselage (body) would rotate the opposite way until it reached a speed which was equal and opposite the torque/resistance. "
