How do people know their is nothing faster than the speed of light.?

"i don't like saying nothing is impossible when it comes to science what we know today might change. i heard a scientist say we might be receiving alien signals all the time from other planets but because we are so primitive we would not have the tech that could pick up these signals so what if the same goes to other particles. what if their is a particle that could go faster than light but we are so primitive we don't have the tech that could pick up on this particle.it just seems the speed of Light is very slow if we got a ship that could go near the speed it would take us years to reach an other solar system."

Faster than the speed of light?

"Say that I build a very long, hollow container that can travel at, say, 70% of the speed of light. I then put another, much smaller device, inside the large container and send it travelling at 70% of the speed of light. Shouldn't we consider that darkness travels faster than light?

In a way, Light thinks it travels faster than anything else. But it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds that the darkness has always gotten there first.

How is traveling in warp speed faster than traveling in light speed?

I watched the new Star Trek movie. And there were many scenes were the Enterprise spaceship traveled than warp speed. They said we are traveling faster than light. How is that possible? And shouldn't the plane and its crew be completely destroyed by the g force?
