Consumer behavior is the study of when, why, how, and where people do or do not buy a product. How to decide which particular product or service to purchase? Consumer behavior captures all the aspect of purchase, utility and disposal of products and services. Culture alone cannot define consumer behavior; social forces also play an important role .A customer’s buying behavior is also influenced by social factors, such as the groups to which the customer belongs and social status. Social forces consist of family, friends, peer groups, status and role in society. Consumer buying behavior is influenced by individual’s own personality traits. These personality traits do not remain the same but change with the life cycle. Maslow’s hierarchy, Herzberg Theory and Freud Theory try and explain people different motivational level in undertaking a buying decision.
