Three units of study on ancient civilizations for 9th grade students. The first unit focuses on early civilizations and Egypt, the second on China and India, and the third on Greece and Rome. Each unit includes essential questions, learning targets, vocabulary, suggested assessments, and possible resources. Students will learn about the characteristics of civilizations, evaluate different forms of government, compare and contrast societies and values, and analyze the impact of historical events and changes. a variety of activities, including group work, written responses, discussions, and tests, as well as resources such as notes, worksheets, videos, and websites.
