ESM 2304 Name: _________________________________ SHW1 - Rectilinear Motion 2/1/2010 Rules: You are allowed to discuss this problem with your peers, but direct copying will be considered an honor code violation. Please write out and sign the standard academic honor pledge at the bottom of this cover sheet. Please be neat because partial credit is possible but only if your work is easy to read. This assignment is due in class on Monday, February 8 th . Particle 1 is subjected to an acceleration 2 1 k a s k  , particle 2 is subjected to 3/22 1 k a v k   , and particle 3 is subjected to 21 k t a k e , where k1 and k2 are constants. It should be noted that the units of k1 and k2 vary from case to case. At time t = 0 each particle has an initial position s = s0 and an initial velocity v = v0. Express the position, velocity, and acceleration of each particle as a function of time. Then, plot the position, velocity, and acceleration versus time for each particle over the range 0 15t  sec if k1 = 1, k2 = 0.2, s0 = 0, and v0 = 5 ft/sec.
