My major field of study is Biochemistry. Biochemistry is the study of chemical reactions and how living organisms stay alive. For example, using this particular degree of study is beneficial toward research in digestion and photosynthesis. The purpose of entering this field of biochemistry is to improve holistic health medicine and better the lives of others. As a biochemist, I could extract the minerals and nutrients from plants to create herbal medicine to cure diseases. With a major such as Biochemistry, the sky is beyond the limit. It is essential to learn the process of body systems and chemical mechanisms that allow the human body to run efficiently. Plant medicine and food chemistry are critical concepts associated with Biochemistry. Majoring in Chemistry with an option of Biochemistry will only expand the horizon of success for my future, my family, my community and the world. I will have the splendid opportunity of working with several chemists, physicists, biologists and biochemists as I major in the field of Chemistry. Understanding the study of life as well as the chemical reactions of living things will develop my experience in research. With a single goal in mind, I plan to put in an end to world hunger, diseases, viruses, and cancers, which continue to plague our world. California State Polytechnic University, Pomona will guarantee many rigorous courses of study, training, mentors, internships and networking opportunities to take me to the next level. My best goal is to travel the world and work along many laboratories throughout the nation. After college, I would like to persuade a career as a Biochemist, while operating as a holistic health practitioner. Later in the future, I can use my degree of Biochemistry to work in the department of agriculture or government laboratories. As a strong believer in Christ, I have no doubt that in my faith; it is possible to find the cure for Alzheimer’s disease, brain, breast and prostate cancer, AIDS, diabetes and etc. The major of Biochemistry will begin to open many doors in my life.
