The bill board acts as a warning to drivers along this road in Maryland to beware of tornados and the appropriate action that they should take to protect themselves from the tornado in case they experience it. The occurrence of these disasters has necessitated the need for drills on the response measures that should be used in the event that a person encountered a tornado. The nurse has a major role in guiding their patients on the action that they should take once the disaster occurs. One ne of the community setting that has been affected by the disaster advertisement is an occupational health facility. The health facility was once affected by the tornadoes and this created the need to partner with the fire department to provide appropriate guidance on response to occurrence of tornadoes in future. The Fire department has been helping in creating awareness on tornados and providing guidance during the drills (Nies & McEwen, 2019). The response by the fire department in collaboration with health facilities has made it possible to protect the people from the adverse effects of tornados in case they occur and also the number of casualties from the disaster. Nurses have a major role during the drill to provide education on the preventive measures that should be taken by the patients and staff in various healthcare facilities to enhance their safety, ensure that anxiety is reduced and the appropriate course of action in case of disaster occurrence to prevent loss of human life (Nies & McEwen, 2019). The major stakeholders in the disaster preparedness are the fire department and the Red Cross society. These organizations have a better experience in response to disasters and have a wide wealth of knowledge on the appropriate responses that should be embraced to enhance safety and save more lives (Nies & McEwen, 2019). The stakeholders also have advanced equipment that they use to handle such disasters. This places them in a better position to provide appropriate response guidelines. They also have experience in handling victims at the site of the disaster and as they transport to the health facilities. References
