-Emphasis on weight, feeling, balance, movement -Created with bold expressive line -Impact is interpretive, momentary glimpse.

value modeling -use dark and light and texture to create illusion of light hitting a form in space

personal markmaking -Idiosyncratic. -caligraphic, whimsical -personal gesture translation.

  1. toolbox techniques -sighting, angling, plotting points, -observing negative space -"blind" contour drawing (slow) -circles, circles translated to ellipses -perspective - vanishing points and horizon line, l point, 2 point, 3 point perspective -loosen up line with gesture drawing of body (fast) -scribbled line to create volume, mass -sphere, cylinder, cone, cube, modeled with value
