Short-term/ exchange durations We have a number of study options available: Full year: September to June Semester Abroad: One term: Autumn term or Spring term Two terms: Autumn & Spring terms (September to April) or Spring & Summer terms (January to June terms) Please note that campus accommodation contracts are linked to the registration period. Students should apply for the correct terms, e.g. they should exclude the Summer Term if they choose modules which do not have exams. JYA English Plus Full year – May t0 April Part year – May to December ADMISSION & APPLICATION Number of Places Varies according to specific agreement and level of interest. Contact the Erasmus and Study Abroad team in the first instance. Nomination Please nominate your students by email to the Erasmus and Study Abroad team, including the name of the student, email address, period of study and degree title. European exchanges: [email protected] Exchanges outside Europe: [email protected] Nomination deadlines September arrival: 15 May January arrival: 15 October JYA English Plus: 15 February Application The link to the online application will be sent directly to nominated students. Students whose study period finishes in December or April will not be present for the exam period. If students in this situation choose modules which have an exam, the School may be able to set an extra piece of coursework in lieu of the exam. Please note this option is not available for all modules. The Erasmus and Study Abroad team will contact you to select alternative modules if necessary. All spring & summer term students and full-year students are required to sit any examinations in the Summer Term, where applicable. An alternative form of assessment is not allowed. Official Transcript At the end of the period of study, the University of Kent will issue one official electronic transcript to the student’s home institution. We can also issue hard copies on request. A copy of the grading system is included in the transcript. Students who are coming to Kent for 6 months or longer and will need a Student Visa, will receive a CAS number from the University once their application has been processed. This can take some time so we recommend that students submit their complete application as early as possible. JYA English Plus students who successfully complete the pre-sessional course will be advised about the visa application for the undergraduate course period by International Programmes.
