Trimetrix Assesment HRMT Human Resource Management (University Canada West) lOMoARcPSD|3013804 1 Assessing and Analyzing personality with the Indigo/TriMetrix DNA Assessment XXXXX University Canada West HRMT 622: Talent Management XXXXX March XX, XXXX lOMoARcPSD|3013804 4 worked for five companies with different roles in each organization in the past five years. With my lousy ability to comply with rules, I have faced challenges in my previous jobs. I always wondered why I used to end up in a crisis in my professional and personal life; from this TriMetrix DNA assessment, I understand that I should improve my time management skills. These skills require a disciplined routine in which one plans daily activities and estimates time. I will try to follow a disciplined lifestyle. Analysis As per the TriMetrix DNA assessment report, some of my strengths are utilizing people to win and accomplish the goals, willing to help others in the organization, and not being easily deterred by the setbacks. While preparing for my GMAT test, I worked hard but, in the end, could not reach the benchmark level in the exam, this was heartbreaking, but this did not force me to stop trying; instead, I started working harder and got my desired score in the very next attempt. My weaknesses are a lack of time and priority management and teamwork skills; However, these skills have been shown as developed in the TriMetrix DNA assessment. I need to improve upon skills to save and divert my time and energy to other important work. Part - 2 Future Projections With My MBA, I want to shift my career to management consulting and start my consulting firm in the future. With management consulting, I intend to help micro, small, and medium enterprises to succeed in the highly competitive business world by improving their operational, financial, marketing, and HRM strategies. As a management consultant, one needs to clarify the client’s needs, expectations, and ability to solve more significant problems with creative ideas (Louise & Jeremy, 2012). lOMoARcPSD|3013804 5 My zeal for creativity, new views, subject matter, analyzing issues from different angles, and leading a team to achieve the goals will help me succeed in my future career. As a management consultant, one must deal with the employees of one’s own and the client’s company for various purposes such as data collection, site visits, etc. (Louise & Jeremy, 2012). They also need to solve the conflicts between them and clients on proposed solutions. As all the projects are time- bound, consultants must start and complete the project within a stipulated period. Hence, management consultants need conflict, time, and team management skills. These personality traits have been rated low in the TriMetrix DNA assessment, which I believe is correct. Part- 3 Action Plan While using my strengths to influence and optimize work, I will have to work on my weaknesses, improving my efficiency and efficacy in delivering a good project as a consultant. Conflict Management Conflict is a possible outcome of differences in opinions due to stress, personal issues, and emotional instability (Kohlrieser, 2018). It should be developed constructively as skills to resolve conflicts among employees and different stakeholders, help in better teamwork, and improve employee efficiency and satisfaction. Since practical conflict management skills require emotional intelligence, agreement on facts, and creating a win-win situation (Overton & Lowry, 2013), I will first learn to keep my emotions out of the conflict resolution process because it may lead to a partial decision. To improve my emotional intelligence, I will follow the approach: "change the situation, modify the case, suppress, or amplify the problem, shift attention, and reframe the situation” (McShane, Tasha & Steen, 2021, p.51). Moreover, I will start focusing on lOMoARcPSD|3013804 6 the root cause of the issue and data rather than intuitions. As a leader, I will develop an ability to evaluate all the perspectives so that everyone feels heard and then find a solution serving a win- win situation for all the stakeholders. Time Management As effective time management is imperative in any form of human life, I must develop skills to manage my time effectively to succeed in my professional career. In my opinion, time management skills can be acquired by changing one’s routine and analyzing the distribution of one’s time over some time, such as a week or even a day. Once I explore my time, I will start focusing on my improper distribution of time and then prioritizing it according to the activities. I will also start using some time management software such as Google calendar, Pomodoro, and Calendly to track my schedule (Islam, Ali & Osmani, 2021). Team Management Although I have led teams in the past in organizations and college, there is always room for improvement to efficiently manage a team to deliver an impactful project to grow the business. Moreover, this requires more attention as the Canadian work culture is a blend of people from different countries. While my ability to lead a team towards a desired goal is rated the highest, I must focus on building the right team for my business. When making the right team, there are a few factors that we need to consider to increase the team’s effectiveness. First is a clear idea about the goal to accomplish so that members can channel their energies towards the common goal, which will also help individuals understand whether the target is compelling (Bishop, Scott, Maynard-Patrick & Wang,2014).
