The global processes that have shifted the borders of economic transactions and seen the growth of TNCs; expanded communications media into global networks (TV satellites, mobile phones, PCs have all led to a sort of shrinking of the word); fostered a new global culture; created a growing awareness of shared global problems (such as environmental damage); led to the development of new forms of international governance (such as UN and WHO); and possibly weakened the nation state contemporary migrations (amongst other movements) affect the dynamics within states, the relationships between states, and the links between state, society, and culture.
