Management Communication C204 Sparkit Executive Summary Are you ready to Sparkit? I am very excited to announce a new product that we have been testing and is now ready for the market. This product will allow the world to transition a gas-powered engine to run on biofuels and we have it, Sparkit. Yes, that is the name of this new amazing product we are producing and starting to sell. There are approximately 300 million cars on the road, and we predict that this product can be retrofitted on close to 50% of those. That means 150 million cars converting to using biofuels instead of gasoline. But first, what is gasoline? Gasoline is made from refined petroleum. Petroleum is made from decaying dead organisms such as dinosaurs that have been under extreme heat and pressure for over 10 million years. Which makes this a hard to create and limited source of fuel. Next let’s talk about what biofuels are. Biofuels are produced from a wide range of materials including farm crop waste, manure, and other byproducts which we are currently using. Which means this is a source of fuel that can be made easier and quicker than gasoline. There are several benefits of using biofuels versus gasoline. Reducing the amount of carbon emissions emitted into our atmosphere is one of them. Automobiles currently produce 29% of carbon emissions which produce greenhouse gases that trap heat in our atmosphere and make the planet warmer (EPA, 2019). By retrofitting a vehicle with Sparkit, we can remove half of those right away. Also, as more and more automobiles are retrofitted with Sparkit and switch over to using biofuels our world will become less dependent on gasoline and produce less carbon emissions which will help our planet. Another benefit of using biofuel instead of gasoline is the cost savings. The cost of biofuels is less expensive than gasoline mainly because of the availability of biofuels. Biofuel is produced from a wide range of materials including crop waste, manure, and other byproducts, whereas gasoline is a limited resource that comes from specific materials (Skye, 2019). As a company we will face several challenges, but I know we can manage them if we all work together. One such challenge will be logistics. This is a major upgrade for our company and the expected sales are astronomical. This will push all of us to our limits and we will have many growing pains but look at the greatness this will create. We will have struggles with product availability, production, labor, and even customers at times, but if we all work to solve the problems versus complain about them this will be great. You all can do this, thank you for being part of this amazing change. Another challenge we will have is with some of our customers. One major possible issue we foresee is that customers may try to install the Sparkit on their own versus having a trained mechanic that knows our product and exactly how to make it work install it. DIY (do it yourself) people will not know the exact specs of how to install our product and may create problems with their own vehicle. We will need to work very hard on getting the information out about only authorized mechanics can install our product. But we also need to be aware and help those that are DIY people and may have problems. A customer is a customer and we need and want them all to be happy. Thank you all for all the hard work you have done in creating this product. We are now stepping into the horizon to share (and sell) this product with the world in order to help create a better way to run our automobiles.
