V INTER-SEMESTER MOOT COURT COMPETITION-

08 April , 2023

RULES FOR MEMORIAL SUBMISSION

All Memorials submitted for the purposes of the Competition shall strictly adhere to the rules as stated below:

  1. Teams have to prepare memorials for both the sides, i.e., Petitioners and Respondents after receiving this the allotment of Team Codes;
  2. That such Registered Teams shall submit the PDF Copy of their Memorials for both sides for the Problem.
  3. When sending the memorials by e-mail in PDF Format, name the files as follows: a) The File pertaining to the memorial for the Respondent as ‘Team Code’ followed by ‘-(dash)’ followed by ‘R’ followed by ‘Round No.’ For e.g., 01-R1, 01-R2, 01- R3, 01-R4 etc.; b) The File pertaining to the memorial for the Petitioner as ‘Team Code’ followed by ‘-(dash)’ followed by ‘A’ followed by ‘Round No.’ For e.g., 01-A1, 01-A2, 01-A3, 01-A4 etc. 4.. The Cover Page of the Memorial sent for the soft and printed copies shall also clearly bear the Memorial numbering, such being clearly inscribed on the top right-hand corner of the cover page of the memorial for the Petitioners and Respondents, as provided in Rule No. 3; 5.. The teams should not disclose the identity of their institution anywhere on the Memorial. Violation of this rule will result in immediate disqualification;
  4. The memorials have to be submitted on A4 size paper and must contain the following sections in the order as stated below: a) Cover Page; b) Table of Contents; c) Index of Authorities; d) Statement of Jurisdiction; e) Statement of Facts; f) Statement of Issues; g) Summary of Arguments; h) Arguments Advanced; and i) Prayer.
  5. Non-compliance with the above criteria shall result in penalty of two marks per missing section;
  6. The memorials must be printed in Times New Roman Font with 12 Font Size and with 1.5 line spacing and should be justified;

9.. The footnotes must be in Times New Roman Font with 10 Font Size and with 1. line spacing and should be justified. There shall be no speaking footnotes in the memorial; 10.. The numbering should be on the bottom-centre of each page;

  1. To conserve paper, teams may at their discretion print their memorials on both sides of the A4 sheet and submit accordingly;
  2. The ‘Arguments Advanced’ section should not exceed 8 Pages. The Memorial as a whole should not exceed 20 pages including the Cover Page;
  3. The Cover Page of Each Memorial shall be printed on A4 size paper in the following colour code: a) Problem ➢ Petitioner:Blue; ➢ Respondent:Red.
  4. The teams have to use the Citation Method as stated in the 20th^ Edition of the Indian Blue Book for citation throughout the memorial, with strict adherence.
