Personal Reflection and Growth Plan PSY- Personal Reflection and Growth Plan There is something fascinating about personality traits and personal growth. Everyone with a mind will have a unique personality and individual ways of thinking. There are various ways to look at traits and how to read and understand people. There are different ways to test personalities and figure out areas you need to address. Addressing the issues in your personality and working to fix them will only help you become a better person. Becoming a better person can help anywhere, from your self-worth, at home and work. For example, people high in integrity, may follow rules and be easy to supervise but may not be good with customer service
due to not being patient or friendly. Its important to understand personalities or even take a test, some tests are designed to diagnose psychiatric conditions such as paranoia or even schizophrenia. Everyone is unique, except we all share various personality traits. Honesty, loyalty, greed, and cheerfulness are a few traits many might share. Luckily, at the right age and with enough effort, without ease, traits can be changed. (Nikos-Rose, 2020.) Strengths and Weakness Growing up without my dad was rough on me, I would really get jealous of my friends when their dad would pick them up afterschool. After a certain age, I understood what lessons my mother was trying to show me and the shoes she was trying to fill. She always tried to show us how to be decent human beings and to treat everyone with love and forgiveness. There are plenty of times where my mother’s teachings of honesty were needed and I’m glad I paid attention. My work ethic, determination, grit and ambitiousness come from seeing her work night after night, knowing I needed to work hard to get a better life. Unfoutreantly, my sarcasm, irritability, coldness, and lonesomeness come from my dad even if we’ve never really met. There are plenty more strengths and weakness to list, but a list of my traits would be a good essay.
help later in my career. My next trait I have been working on is being less inconsistent. As I got hired as a coach, I got the bad news I was pre-diabetic. After a quick cry session in my car outside the doctor’s office, I decided I needed to change. Since that day I have lost 140 + lbs. and I keep working to keep reaching my goals. Although, there is times where I’m on my diet and my workout schedule, then I get lazy and gain 10 lbs. over a weekend. When you work and everything you do is at a high performance you, you thrive at a high level of consistency. (Simonsen, 2020) As a coach who wants to build a winning culture, being disciplined is important, if the coach isn’t disciplined why would the kids. Living 4 minutes from the school is a blessing and a curse. I hate seeing the kids at the store because they follow you around, telling everyone they saw you at school the next morning. When it is a blessing is they see me working out in the garage or on a run down the street. The feeling you get seeing them see their coach running or lifting heavy weight is amazing and makes me want to keep going. Through this class I was glad I got to learn what I did. Lots of what we read from the book is crazy to put into the real world and how it can help you in your life. Maslow’s hierarchy was one of the first things we learned and to this day I have been trying to implement that. Understanding there’s levels to everything and something are more important than other and self-actualization being the most important. Understanding you have potential and discovering that potential is my new goal of life. Conclusion As a conclusion, personalities make who you are as a person. They don’t define you, because with hard work and dedication, you can change. Either negative or positive personal growth is still growth because you learn through what you’ve been through. As a person, I am
still learning, and I am still changing. Acknowledging is the first step; the hard step is working towards growth. I’m not working to be a perfect human being, but just trying to be the best version of myself. References NHS. (n.d.).
