Pharmacy Assessment Questions with Answers Latest Update 2024 Tell me about yourself - Correct Answer Well, I am 21 years old. I am Cambodian- American and currently living in Stockton. For my undergraduate education, I attended UCLA with a Biology major. During that time, I volunteered at the Veterans Home of California and Rite Aid as a pharmacy technician. To relax, I love exercising and spending time with my family. What is your greatest strength and weakness? - Correct Answer Strength: I have always been known for my work ethic. I am committed to meeting deadlines and taking responsibility for the quality of my performance. When I was working in the pharmacy with my fellow peers, there was an issue with a patient's prescription order and it did not reach the pharmacy until our shifts were over. Rather than leaving the problem to the volunteers in the evening shift, my peers and I stayed late and made sure the issue was fixed. "Oh, what was the issue?" There was an issue with the AM/PM cycle for that prescription. So the amount of pills for the AM cycle was actually for the PM cycle and vice versa. We just started over and made sure the AM/PM cycles were correct Weakness: I feel like my weakness is speaking in front of a large audience. Normally, this isn't a problem but I've found that there have been times during presentations where it was difficult speaking. What helped me overcome this obstacle was taking on a leadership role in my Cambodian Club as president. Through time, I was able to improve on my communication skills whenever I was in a large group. Also, the pharmacist at the Veterans Home was instrumental in encouraging me to speak and be more vocal, especially with the other pharmacists and volunteers. In what kind of work environment are you most comfortable with? - Correct Answer I like working with open-minded, responsible, and passionate people who are productive and get things done. It's important for me to trust my team members to always do their best. To be the most productive, I feel like each member in the group has to participate and help one another so everyone can be efficient. Where did your interest in pharmacy come from? - Correct Answer I was always interested in patient treatment. Back in the summer of 2011, my uncle had internal bleeding related to heart failure. Luckily, he recovered. On the day of his discharge, I went to go visit him and the last person I saw was a pharmacist. Not only did she consult my uncle about his medication, but she also instilled confidence in his recovery. Her words of encouragement also provided me a sense of hope and appreciation. Ever since that day, I knew I had to pursue a career in pharmacy so I can help people like my uncle. Why have you chosen our pharmacy program - Correct Answer ___ was my number one choice because of its mission statement, to prepare students for lifelong success in health careers. I am also interested in the professional pharmacy fraternity Phi Delta Chi. I hope to develop networks with other pharmacy students and alumni so I can learn about pharmacy. Also, the location of the school is great as I will be close to my family. What can you contribute to our school? - Correct Answer I believe my leadership qualities from UCLA as well as my work ethic will help me contribute to the pharmacy community on campus. I hope to join a health organization or the professional pharmacy fraternity so I can provide leadership qualities and promote diversity. I want to be a part of a group where I can inspire confidence, character, and growth. How do you handle stress? - Correct Answer To handle stress, I would normally go to the gym to either workout or play basketball. Doing something active helps me relax. If for some reason I can't exercise, my alternative would be talking to someone, like a friend or family member. Speaking to someone sometimes help me find solutions to my stress. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? - Correct Answer I see myself successfully completing pharmacy school and passing the NAPLEX so I can earn my PharmD. With the degree, I hope to work in a hospital pharmacy so work alongside other healthcare providers in treating patients. But, most importantly, I want to give back to my parents and my family for everything they have done for me to get where I am today. What three characteristics best describe you? - Correct Answer 1. I am compassionate. It makes me feel great inside when I spare my time to helping others. 2. I am well-organized 3. I am focused whenever I have a task ahead of me What problems/challenges do you expect in pharmacy school? - Correct Answer I would be attending a new university, so it would take some time to adapt to the commute and my schedule of courses. Also, Time management could be a huge issue for me when it comes to other activities beyond academics. I feel it would be difficult to balance academics along with extracurricular activities, family responsibilities, and a part-time job.
