Post-colonial period

  • it is the historical period or state of affairs which represent the aftermath of Western colonialism. What had changed during the post-colonial period? The colonial experiences of pastoralist women have been largely ignored in the literature of Africa. What happened during the post-colonial period in the Philippines? The Philippine American war began on February 4, 1899 The post-colonial period was the period after the colonial period. This was when the USA began to forming itself with the first 13 states and then moved past colonies and into town, cities and states. The changed of post colonial period was that the paper focuses on pre-colonial, colonial and post- colonial periods to locate the impact of colonization on pastoral's women's roles and social status using the example of Borana women of northern Kenya. In this study, it is demonstrated that the post-colonial women of the Borana did not enjoy full position of status relative to men, colonialism reinforced the differences between the roles of the waning of Borana women's status. The Philippine American war began on February 4,1899 when American soldiers opened fire on Filipinos in Manila. In the first years of US occupation, the battles were fought between the new US colonizers and Filipino guerilla armies tired of existing under foreign rule.
