SMARTSHEET SUPPORT GLOSSARY EXAM Questions With 100% Verified Answers Latest Updates 2024 GRADE A+
Typology: Exams
1 / 16
509 Certificate - Answer- [SAML] 509 is a public key infrastructure and the certificate, in SAML, is where this key is located. In practice, the only part of the certificate that matters is the public key. The public key is bound to a signing certificate in the metadata. The private key is securely held by the party that signs the XML message. For Smartsheet, this key allows us to authenticate the data being sent to us. Accelerator(s) - Answer- [Control Center] Pre-packaged deployments of SCC with minimal engagement from Smartsheet Consulting team. Access Token - Answer- [Internal] a set of characters generated by a user's account that allows them to access the Smartsheet API. Used in the Authentication header Account - Answer- [Internal, OpsCon, Salesforce] A unique profile in Smartsheet as defined by an email address. Accounts can be licensed users, non-licensed users, or free collaborators. Addition Leads - Answer- [Control Center] Other users other than the PMO Lead that can make changes to the existing program or blueprints. These users do not need to be shared to the config sheet. Agile - Answer- [Connector, Product] Let's you view your issue on your Scrum or Kanban board. API Client ID - Answer- [Product] The specific ID shown in OpsCon Grid Load Logs and other resources (Kibana, Dev Tools, etc.) will help identify which applications are accessing/updating sheets. Also, see the API Client ID Report in Smartsheet to help as a reference. API_RATE_LIMIT - Answer- [OpsCon] This sets the number of requests that can come in from the user to an individual API App Server per minute. There is a fleet of 10 API App Servers and each one gets this rate limit. Requests will come into the fleet and in most cases, they go to a new server each time, but in some cases, they may be sent to the same server. This rate limit per server helps to ensure the users won't get clipped by the Rate Limits early. It is controlled by the Long value and the default is 100. Decreasing it below 100 has no effect and it should NOT be increased beyond 200.
App Log / Client Errors - Answer- [OpsCon] These can be reviewed just as one would for troubleshooting Smartsheet application errors. Switching the Session Type to REST will show only errors from the API. You can also switch between the Log Type for App Log (Smartsheet Server Side Errors) and Client Log (API Client Making Request Errors). APP_DEVELOPER - Answer- [OpsCon] Determines if a user has the Developer Tools enabled on their account. This is only necessary if someone will be creating third party apps and will be implementing an OAuth flow. This is controlled by the Boolean value at either true or false. Default is false. Application Programming Interface (API) - Answer- [Product] The mechanism by which someone interacts with data programmatically instead of via a mouse and keyboard. Approval Column - Answer- [Control Center] Column on the Intake sheet that marks the project as approved and ready for SCC to provision. The Blueprint settings on the Config sheet state which column this is and what the value needs to be in order to be seen in SCC. Approval Value - Answer- [Control Center] The value in the Approval Column that will allow the project to be available in SCC to be provisioned. Assertion - Answer- [Product] XML version of the work being done to authenticate between SP and IdP; Contains packets of information that supply one or more statements made by a SAML authority Assertion Consumer Service URL (ACS) - Answer- [Product] the endpoint on our side that the customers IdP will send information to. For Smartsheet, the ACS url is https://sso.smartsheet.com/Shibboleth.sso/SAML2/POST Assignee - Answer- [Connector, Product] The person to whom the issue is currently assigned. Attribute (Claim) - Answer- [Product] Specific set of data within the XML (metadata or assertion) that is being asked for (such as email address, persistent ID, or given name) Smartsheet requires only two claims: the PersistentID (also known as NameID) and the Email Address. Read more on them here. Attributes - Answer- [Product] The parts of the JSON object that label the pieces of data being returned or sent in the body. Ex: In this object { "name" : "Mary" } the name is the attribute with Mary being the value Authentication Configuration (in OpsCon) - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] This is a section found in the Organization's OpsCon page. Clicking this will take you into the organization's settings for authentication (logging in). In the part of this page with the same name, all login options will be shown and have a red X or a green checkmark.
Checkmarks are enabled login options and red Xs are the options that will not be available to users Authorization (Auth) - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] a process by which verification is done to ensure that someone is whom they claim to be Auto Approval - Answer- [Control Center] Also called "auto provisioning." In the UI, it's called "Automation." Auto Approval is managed in the SCC-Admin Permissions Database. This tool sets up a rule that when a row on the Intake Sheet meets the criteria of the rule, the project is automatically provisioned. Auto-Provisioned Domain - Answer- [OpsCon] "A setting that enables a domain (e.g. lbl.gov) to automatically associate new user accounts who sign up for Smartsheet or existing accounts who create their first sheet, to be automatically added as a licensed user to their multi-user plan *NOTE: it is possible for a multi-user plan to designate multiple domains for this behavior. The designation of domain licensing is an action that we, not the customer, activate" Binding Methodterm- 22 - Answer- [SAML] Smartsheet supports both HTTP-POST and HTTP-Redirect binding methods. It is up to the customer how they configure their IdP. Blueprint - Answer- [Control Center] Also called the project templates, this is a folder that contains all sheets, reports, and dashboards to be copied. The blueprint will often be created and set up by our Consulting team and contains a number of cell links. These sheets and their Sheet IDs must be located under the Fields section of the Program Config sheet. Boards - Answer- [Connector] A board displays issues from one or more projects, giving you a flexible way of viewing, managing and reporting on work in progress. Smartsheet links to Projects, not Boards. Body - Answer- The collection of data that is being received or passed in an API request Bonus sheets - Answer- a number of sheets granted to a customer for free above and beyond what their plan provides Bonus users - Answer- a number of user licenses granted to a customer for free above and beyond what their plan provides Bug - Answer- [Connector] A problem that impairs or prevents the functions of the product. Cache and Cookies - Answer- information the browser keeps; clearing these can eliminate old login information and resolve login errors

Cancelled Account (in OpsCon) - Answer- [OpsCon] A former trial or paid account that elected to cancel but chose the free user option. Canonical Name (CNAME) - Answer- [OpsCon] CNAME records can be used to alias one name to another. In Smartsheet set up for SAML, a CNAME can be set up to create a login URL (i.e. www.yourcompanyname.com/login) that is easier to remember than https://www.yourcompanyname.com/login/adfs/e7ff7anfow63mahdjgk3k285jfkk Case - Answer- [Salesforce] Detailed description of a customer's feedback, problem, or question. Used to track and solve your customers' issues. Channel(s) - Answer- [MSFT Teams] Specific place for conversation on a certain topic that is nested underneath the larger 'Team'. Collaborator - Answer- Accounts that are added to a sheet with view, edit, or sheet admin privileges. Column or row drop-down menu - Answer- Menu that contains row and column actions Component - Answer- [Connector, Product] A project component is a logical grouping of issues within a project. Component(s) - Answer- [Connector, Product] Project component(s) to which this issue relates. Config - Answer- [Control Center] 1) The main sheet that Control Center uses. This is the brain/hub of the Control Center and it is generally advised to not make changes directly to this sheet. There are exceptions, so refer to the documentation for the latest processes. 2) The settings pages for all premium apps or connectors. Gathering information about these settings can help you predict the expected behavior. Consumer Key - Answer- [Connector] A client password that is used to authenticate with the authentication server Container - Answer- Internal image.png "A container is an abstraction we use to represent a user's folder hierarchy. All of the following items have exactly one container
associated with them: (Workspace, folder, sheet (includes templates), reports) Note that this is not an exhaustive list - there are other types of containers in the database that users are not aware of. Containers are used to name items or to manage permissions or ownership Created - Answer- [Connector, Product] The time and date on which this issue was entered into JIRA. Custom - Answer- [Connector, Product] You can create custom Issue Types. Customer/User - Answer- [Internal] A person or organization who directly owns or is affiliated with a paid plan Dashboard - Answer- [Connector] The main screen for Connectors. This is where the user will see the current workflows. Dashboards - Answer- [Connector, Product] Dashboards are designed to display gadgets that help team members organize their projects, assignments, and achievements in different charts. Description - Answer- [Connector, Product] A detailed description of the issue. Development - Answer- [Connector, Product] If you use Bitbucket to manage your code repositories, you can create code branches in your code development tools directly from JIRA issues. See Integrating JIRA with Code Development Tools for details. Domain Name System (DNS) - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] this works as an internet phonebook; maintains a directory of domain names and translates them to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. SSL - SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security protocol for establishing encrypted links between a web server and a browser in online communication. The usage of SSL technology ensures that all data transmitted between the web server and browser remains encrypted. Downgrade - Answer- [Internal] When a customer switches to a lower-paying account Due - Answer- [Connector, Product] The date by which this issue is scheduled to be completed. Email address - Answer- [Internal, OpsCon, Salesforce] The unique value that distinguishes an account Email Template - Answer- [Salesforce] A form email that communicates a standard message, such as a welcome letter to new employees or an acknowledgment that a customer service request has been received. Email templates can be personalized with merge fields and can be written in text, HTML, or custom format.
Enterprise (ENT) - Answer- Internal Product plan type - (also Individual, Business, Trial, Team) EntityID - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] An entity ID is a globally unique name for a SAML entity, either an Identity Provider (IdP) or a Service Provider (SP). Since an entity ID is a name, not a location, the entity ID and the endpoint locations in metadata do not need to match. If the entity ID is a URL (and it almost always is) it need not resolve. Different organizations that share metadata will use the same entity ID. Environment - Answer- [Connector, Product] The hardware or software environment to which the issue relates. Epic - Answer- [Connector, Product] An epic captures a large body of work. It is essentially a large user story that can be broken down into a number of smaller stories. It may take several sprints to complete an epic. Estimate - Answer- [Connector, Product] The Original Estimate of the total amount of time required to resolve the issue, as estimated when the issue was created. FEATURE_ENABLED_API_ACCESS - Answer- [OpsCon] Determines if a user account can access the API. This is done by switching the Boolean value between true and false. Default is true. Fields - Answer- [Control Center] Section in the Program Config sheet under Project Settings that contains Global Fields and Templates. Filter Project by User - Answer- [Control Center] Column on the Intake sheet that will prevent other PMOs from seeing projects to provision that they are not assigned to. Filtered Row Finder (FRF) - Answer- [Connector] An automated/scheduled job that segregates data (hierarchically) that falls outside of the workflow's current filter criteria. Fix Version(s) - Answer- [Connector, Product] Project version(s) in which the issue was (or will be) fixed. Free sheet - Answer- A sheet owned by a user that does not count toward a user's paid sheet limit but otherwise works like a paid sheet. Each user can have up to two of these. In the database, these sheets have a container whose paymentProfileID = 1. Free sheet source - Answer- [Internal] A free sheet source is a sheet whose container is used to create free sheets. Specifically, whenever you use a distribution link for a free sheet source, the consumer of the link will get a copy of the free sheet source as a new free sheet. This assumes they have not already exceeded their free sheet limit (2 per user), in which case they would get an error.
Function/cell link info - Answer- The information overlay appears in the grid when you click on a cell that has a cell link, hyperlink, or a function in it. The overlay has a "fade out" effect that occurs if you move the mouse away from the selected cell in any direction. The overlay has a "fade out" effect that occurs if you move the mouse away from the selected cell in any direction. NOTE: I don't know that this is the official term we want to use to define this thing externally. Internally many people still call it the "lingerie" or the "func display info". It's probably OK to make this an internal only term." Global Fields - Answer- [Control Center] All of the fields (project values) that SCC will either need to obtain from the PMO during the provisioning process or get from the Intake sheet. Global Updates - Answer- [Control Center] Make changes to your Blueprint and all provisioned projects from the Blueprint. There are 4 updates that can be done; Add New Column, Modify Existing Column, Add New Metadata, Find/Replace. Global Updates will be saved and can be run multiple times. Graphic User Interface (GUI) - Answer- the visual components that together make up the buttons and other pieces a user interacts with an application via mouse and keyboard Grid View - Answer- The spreadsheet view of the sheet Hamburger Menu - Answer- [Connector, Product] The menu button at the top/left of the UI Headers - Answer- Metadata for a request or response that provides context and additional info. They define the operating parameters of the transaction High - Answer- [Connector, Product] Indicates that this issue is causing a problem and requires urgent attention. Highest - Answer- [Connector, Product] Highest priority. This problem will block progress. HTTP Method - Answer- The verb used for the type of request. Ex: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) - Answer- The method of communication that allows for computers to transfer data on the internet. Identity Provider (IdP) - Answer- A system entity that creates, maintains and manages identity information for users while providing authentication services. In Smartsheet, this is the user database that properly authenticates users and sends authentication information to Smartsheet to allow login via SAML
IdP Certificate - Answer- The IdP certificate allows for the verification of signatures. These certificates are the trust anchors. They allow you to verify signatures and therefore establish trust in the messages (Smartsheet's request for info and the assertion that is passed back to us) that have been exchanged. This is very similar to trusted CA certificates that are configured in your browser for authenticating certificates of HTTPS sites. The SAML requests and responses should be signed (the responses at the very least). You'll find elements like <ds:DigestMethod />, <ds:DigestValue /> and <ds:SignatureValue />. When the SP gets a SAML response from the IdP via the browser, it must verify that the signature it gets comes from an IdP it knows and that it is signed using the IdP's private key; this signature can be verified against the IdP's public key in the certificate configured in the metadata. IdP initiated SSO - Answer- [Product, SAML] the login process is begun with the IdP (i.e. you log in once, your IdP authenticates you, and it logs you into your accounts in multiple places/providers). An example of IdP initiated SSO would be how we can use a tile in OKTA as a Single Sign-on portal to access Smartsheet. Any customer could theoretically set this up, but we don't advise on how. We only advise on / troubleshoot SP initiated SSO. Intake - Answer- [Control Center] Sheet where a proposed project starts. Often a PM at a company will need a project spun up so they will put in a request by filling out a form. This form will create a new row on the Intake sheet. If approved on the Intake Sheet, the PMO will set the row as approved and the project will be available to be provisioned in SCC. Internal Knowledge Base (iKB) - Answer- [Internal, Salesforce] When this is referenced, it means to search in the Knowledge app inside Salesforce. Internet Service Provider (ISP) - Answer- [Internal] Refers to the domain part of a user's email address. Meant to identify users that are signing up with their personal email address and not that of a company/organization. Common ISPs include Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud, Comcast, etc. Issues - Answer- [Connector, Product] An 'issue' is the name given to any piece of work in JIRA Software. Javascript Object Notation ( JSON) - Answer- The format used for the data that is sent to and from the Smartsheet API. Kebab (menu) - Answer- The 3 dot menu in the upper right of Chrome Browser Key - Answer- [Connector, Product] A unique identifier for this issue, in the example above: ANGRY-304. (The characters to the left of the hyphen represent the project to which this issue belongs.)
Knowledge Sidebar - Answer- [Salesforce] A sidebar in a Salesforce console that displays titles of Salesforce Knowledge articles that may solve the case you're working on. It automatically searches and returns articles from your knowledge base that match any of the words you type in the Subject of a case. The sidebar only displays for Salesforce Knowledge users after administrators set it up. Labels(s) - Answer- [Connector, Product] Labels to which this issue relates. Lead Strength - Answer- [Internal] An index incorporating login count, client action count, containers created and sharing count Left toolbar - Answer- Left formatting toolbar Licensed Users - Answer- [OpsCon] Accounts added to a multi-user plan with 'licensed user flag checked. *NOTE: an account can be associated with only ONE multi-user plan Links - Answer- [Connector, Product] A list of links to related issues. Log in/Login - Answer- Verb used for logging in (also used in UI) Logged - Answer- [Connector, Product] The sum of the Time Spent from each of the individual work logs for this issue. Login History - Answer- [OpsCon] This will also show sessions created from API requests. The Login Type will show as REST_ACCESS_TOKEN. The Browser will likely show as UNKNOWN UNKNOWN. Hovering your mouse over that will show more info about the client making these requests. Example: SmartsheetPythonSDK/1.2.0. Logout URL - Answer- a URL the user is directed to when logout of the session occurs (manually or automatically). Smartsheet doesn't support logout URLs, so if the customer is requesting this, it would be an Enhancement Request Low - Answer- [Connector, Product] Indicates that this issue has a relatively minor impact. Lowest - Answer- [Connector, Product] Lowest priority. Main Contact - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] The User designated as the main point of contact for a multi-user plan Master Summary Rollup - Answer- [Control Center] (Optional) A sheet that every provisioned project is cell linked to. This allows for the PMOs to know what projects have been provisioned and view their statuses. Medium - Answer- [Connector, Product] Indicates that this issue has a significant impact.
Metadata - Answer- a set of data that describes and gives information about other data. In Smartsheet (in respect to SAML), the metadata is a set of data that provides information for authentication Mobile app - Answer- Native mobile app, iOS and Android Multi-user plans / Organization (Org) - Answer- [OpsCon] A licensing and account structure that associates multiple users Naming - Answer- [Control Center] Custom names can be given to every sheet, report, and dashboard in the Blueprint folder after it has been provisioned. You can either select to add any value, such as project name, to either the prefix or suffix of the root item name. This is broken up into 2 seconds. Naming sheets/dashboards and naming workspaces/folders. Non-licensed Users - Answer- [OpsCon] Accounts added to a multi-user plan that do not have 'licensed user flag' checked. *NOTE: an account can be associated with only ONE multi-user plan *NOTE: it is not mandatory for SysAdmin on a multi-user plan to be licensed" OAuth - Answer- Connector An open protocol to allow secure authorization in a simple and standard method from web, mobile and desktop applications. Opscon - Answer- The Operations Control Panel Organization (Org) - Answer- [Connector] Typically this the larger group that a user belongs to within a Smartsheet account. This can sometimes also refer to the group that a user belongs to within a TARGET system Owner ID - Answer- [OpsCon] All Smartsheet users, including collaborators, are assigned an ID. Payment Profile ID - Answer- [OpsCon] ID we assign to trial users and paid users Permissions - Answer- [Control Center] All PMOs must be shared with all of the provisioned projects. They can either be made the owner of the project or they could be made Admins. If Admin is selected, the user provisioning the project will be made by the owner. Additional users or groups can be added at the Blueprint level or while you are provisioning the project. Advanced sharing can be done to share a user to specific items within the project and not all of the items. For example, you can provision a project but make a group shared to the project dashboard. This group does not have access to the sheets but can view the dashboard. Persistent ID - Answer- [SAML] One of the attributes required by Smartsheet. This is a privacy-preserving user identifier shared between the Identity Provider (IdP) and the
Service Provider (SP) for authentication. It is generated by the IdP when the user accesses a specific SP for the first time. Many customers in Smartsheet use the Primary email address for this, although some users have text or number strings as their identifier. Priority - Answer- The importance of the issue in relation to other issues. Profile Data - Answer- [Control Center] When a PMO is provisioning a new blueprint to become a project, they have values that they must enter that will populate or cell link throughout the template sheets. This information can either be manually added during provisioning or could be sourced from the Intake sheet. Profile Data Selection - Answer- [Control Center] This is a section on a sheet within the Blueprint folder that key information will be populated or cell linked to for rollup purposes. Indented under a row called Summary row will be a row for each key value to be mapped. Program - Answer- [Control Center] the sheet that is often referred to as Config Sheet. The Smartsheet Control Center app uses this sheet as a database to know who has access, what templates to copy, where the new project will be created, who will be shared to the new project, and more. Project - Answer- [Connector, Product] The parent project to which the issue belongs. In this case, Angry Nerds. Project Created - Answer- [Control Center] The value that will display in the Project Stage column will remove it from the Approved projects list. This is often a value such as Live or Provisioned. Project Link - Answer- [Control Center] A hyperlink on the Intake sheet that will take you to the provisioned sheet, report, dashboard, or folder. Project Stage - Answer- [Control Center] Column that SCC will make indicating the project has been provisioned which will remove the project from being provisioned a second time.
Public Key - Answer- [Connector] A cryptographic key that can be obtained and used by anyone to encrypt messages intended for a particular recipient (like an authentication server) Query String Parameters - Answer- Pieces of data and their labels that are used to augment a request's results. These are added to a URL after a? and are encoded for being in a URL. Smartsheet specific ones are defined here. Relying Party - Answer- [Internal] A computer term used to refer to a server providing access to a secure software application Remaining - Answer- [Connector, Product] The Remaining Estimate, i.e. the current estimate of the remaining amount of time required to resolve the issue. Reporter - Answer- [Connector, Product] The person who entered the issue into the system. Representational State Transfer (REST) - Answer- REST is the type of API that Smartsheet has created so that developers can interact with data in sheets. It is part of the request/response model where a developer makes the requests and provides all of the states of the situation for the request with each one. Request / Response - Answer- The model that someone uses to interact with an API. The Request is data sent to an API and the Response is data sent back from the API. Any server may receive a request and provide a response. Resolution - Answer- [Connector, Product] A record of the issue's resolution, if the issue has been resolved or closed. Resolved - Answer- [Connector, Product] The time and date on which this issue was resolved. REST Client - Answer- An application used to make requests to a REST API, typically using a visual interface. Salesforce Console - Answer- [Salesforce] The Salesforce console is designed for users in fast-paced environments who need to find, update, and create records quickly. It improves upon the Agent Console in the Console tab by displaying records and related items as tabs on one screen. SANS or Subject Alternative Name - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] specific domains that can be added to the certificate to allow for multiple domains (i.e. app.smartsheet.com; www.smartsheet.com) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) - Answer- [SAML] SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security protocol for establishing encrypted links between a web server and a
browser in online communication. The usage of SSL technology ensures that all data transmitted between the web server and browser remains encrypted. Security Access Markup Language (SAML) - Answer- [SAML] XML-based; Allows the SP and the IdP to speak the same language Service Provider (SP) - Answer- [SAML] company that provides a service. Smartsheet is a service provider SHA256; SHA512 (SHA) - Answer- [SAML] SHA is a popular hashing algorithm used by the majority of SSL certificates. As computing power has increased the feasibility of breaking the SHA1 security has increased. SHA256 (SHA2) or SHA512 denote the number of bits in the signature - the higher the number, the more secure it is. Most browsers no longer support SHA1 and if a certificate in the metadata is using SHA1, this could cause login to fail, even if everything else is set up correctly. Sheet Owner - Answer- [OpsCon] The person who has maximum rights to a sheet. They are the only person who can delete the sheet or who can remove ALL other collaborators from that sheet within the sheet's sharing tab Sign out - Answer- Verb used for signing out (also used in UI) Single Sign On (SSO) - Answer- [SAML] a session and user authentication service that permits a user to use one set of login credentials (e.g., name and password) to access multiple applications Single Log Out (SLO) - Answer- [SAML] A protocol that allows a user to terminate all server sessions established via SAML by initiating the logout process once. Smartscore - Answer- [Internal] Lead scoring based on source bucket and other metrics known immediately when someone trials Smartsheet (ex: Org domain, English browser setting) Software as a Service (SaaS) - Answer- [Internal, Product, Salesforce] A delivery model where a software application is hosted as a service and provided to customers via the Internet. The SaaS vendor takes responsibility for the daily maintenance, operation, and support of the application and each customer's data. The service alleviates the need for customers to install, configure, and maintain applications with their own hardware, software, and related IT resources. Services can be delivered using the SaaS model to any market segment. Software Development Kit (SDK) - Answer- pieces of software installed to a project that allows for API requests to be used as methods in a particular programming language
SP initiated SSO - Answer- the login process is begun with the Service Provider (i.e. you initiate logging in at app.smartsheet.com, the SP). This is the process Smartsheet uses. SSO URL - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] This is a company's unique URL that will take them to their IdPs login screen. Status - Answer- [Connector, Product] The stage the issue is currently at in its lifecycle (workflow). Status columns - Answer- Example: The four columns (the Attachments, Discussions, Over-allocation, and i columns) to the left of the Primary column Story - Answer- [Connector, Product] A story or user story is a software system requirement that is expressed in a few short sentences, ideally using non-technical language. Strong Lead - Answer- [Internal] More than 150 client actions in first day of use Subject Alternative Name (SANS) - Answer- [SAML] specific domains that can be added to the certificate to allow for multiple domains (i.e. app.smartsheet.com; www.smartsheet.com) Summary - Answer- [Connector, Product] A brief one-line summary of the issue. For example, "Red Angry Nerd is scary." Synchronize (Sync) - Answer- [Connector] To keep two (or more) data-sets up to date with one-another System - Answer- Product System System Administrator (Sys Admin) - Answer- [OpsCon, Product] A user associated with a multi-user plan who has the ability to designate and manage other users on a multi- user plan Target - Answer- [Connector] The system that Connectors is connecting to (Ex: JIRA, Salesforce, NetSuite, etc.) Task - Answer- [Connector, Product] A task is a unit of work contained within a story. Tasks/Sub-Tasks, Parent/Child Relationships, Hierarchies - Answer- These terms can be used interchangeably. Team - Answer- [MSFT Teams] Group of users who will have access to items placed here.
Template Customization / Milestone Grouping - Answer- [Control Center] This feature is not documented in the Help Center, but it allows users to dynamically build a template sheet during provisioning. Time to Process - Answer- [Connector] You'll see this in the workflow's run logs. For logs with sync-type of Filtered Row Finder, this includes Wait Time and also the time it took for the job to process (finding filtered issues/records, reorganizing the hierarchy in the sheet). For Sync to Smartsheet or Sync to Jira/Salesforce, this is the amount of time it took for the job the execute/changes to process once the job has reached the top of the queue. Trial - Answer- [Internal, OpsCon, Salesforce] An account that has the ability to create sheets for a fixed period of time without needing a subscription. Trials can originate via sign-up or by free users when they create their first sheet Updated - Answer- [Connector, Product] The time and date on which this issue was last edited. Upgrade - Answer- [Internal] When a Customer switches to a higher paying account User Access Tokens - Answer- [OpsCon] A user's access tokens can be seen by selecting Access Tokens on the user record page in Opscon. There you can see the last four characters of each token and its type as well as other info about the tokens. USER_GENERATED is one that was created by the user from within the Smartsheet application via their browser. These last for 10 years or until revoked. THIRD_PARTY_CLIENT is one created by the user logging into another application using the Smartsheet OAuth flow. These tokens are valid for 7 days or until refreshed. Provided it is implemented correctly the third party app can refresh the token to get a new one indefinitely. User ID - Answer- [OpsCon] Unique number that it used to identify user's in the system User Interface (UI) - Answer- The components that allow a user to interact with an application and its data. Both an API and GUI are UIs. Version - Answer- [Connector, Product] For some types of projects, particularly software development, it is useful to be able to associate an issue with a particular project version Virtual Private Network (VPN) - Answer- [Internal, Product] A secure tunnel between two or more devices. VPNs are used to protect private web traffic from snooping, interference, and censorship. SAML requires a secure connection to work and if users are trying to access from outside their office/secure network, they may need to partner with their IT to get set up for VPN access.
Votes - Answer- [Connector, Product] The number shown indicates how many votes this issue has. Waffle (menu) - Answer- The 9 dot menu in the upper right to access App Launcher Wait Time - Answer- [Connector] You'll see this in the workflow's run logs. For logs with sync-type of Filtered Row Finder, this is the amount of time between FRF runs not including time to process (FRF runs every 1 to 2 hours).
