Re-Opening of Face to Face Classes 2022 As a student, one of the latest issues in the news is the Re- Opening of Face to Face Classes amidst the Covid 19 Pandemic. It has been two years since the Philippines recorded its first case of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused school closures. Schooling is one of the most affected aspects of human life due to the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Since the rise and threat of the pandemic, many countries around the world have decided to temporarily close schools that have affected millions of students. Then the authors cited that every country has the responsibility to come up with strategies to reopen schools safely. In the Philippines, the government’s Department of Education has come up with guidelines to implement online and modular distance learning delivery of instruction. Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones officially opened School Year 2020-2021, signifying the formal start of the country’s transition to distance learning. Learners will start their classes for SY 2020- through either modular, online, or a combination of the said modalities. And after that, on February 02, 2022, DepEd did Announces face to face classes, the President's approval of the recommendation for the progressive expansion of face-to-face classes, Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones has authorized all regional directors to commence the progressive

expansion phase of face-to-face classes for both public and private schools. Because of the opening of face to face classes in other schools, people had different opinions about it, there were excited and happy students but there were also people who feared and were apprehensive for their safety. Several public and private schools in our country have started implementing face to face classes. As a student, one of the biggest challenges you’ve been managing is how to keep safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. School reopening for face-to-face interactions must be carefully planned to ensure the safety of students as well as teachers and school staff in a staged fashion, especially following physical distancing. Planning and execution of school health protocols during this pandemic must be supported by the truthful data being given by various institutions. Last 11 December 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) published a checklist to support school reopening and the preparation for the possible resurgence of COVID-19. One of the Safety tips/implemented during the Covid 19 pandemic is Social distancing, even if you are vaccinated. Always Wearing a mask helps contain any potentially infectious respiratory droplets that may be released while breathing, talking or coughing. Washing your hands can help limit the risk of getting sick by touching a contaminated surface and then spreading the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth If you touch your face. And We need to follow the rules implemented by governments to keep safe especially now that face to face classes can be opened. The checklist helps policymakers and school officials to enhance compliance and adherence to public health protocols during the time of the pandemic. In conclusion, school health protocols in conducting face-to-face classes must be planned carefully following national and international guidelines to ensure that students will be safe or at least mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

I believe The face to face classes is better than modular/online learning because students can more understand and know what they should do if the teacher is teaching personally. And face-to-face allows students to have instant gratification with answers and help, when a student is in class they can ask questions about the lessons. But we need to be even more careful because more people may be infected with the virus. And after two long years of being confined only to modular learning, students will now be engaged in a face to face set-up. Face-to-face learning is much better compared to online learning because “in-person communications make our brains happier.” In a classroom setting, teachers can manage their topics very well because there is no longer a need to compress their topics to fit the modules. Having to go to class with a real teacher is livelier for learners compared to reading a pile of modules. Students can grow more and feel more comfortable interacting with and learning from each other in a classroom setting. Face-to-face gives better motivation to study, and instant feedback. It is too difficult to learn everything through the computer. Face-to-face interaction with instructors is better for the learning process. Face-to-face is better for resolving study problems.
