  1. Absolute Moral Values
    • Absolute because no human being is exempted, every human being is called to uphold and live by them during his lifetime. Examples are love, respect for the dignity of man, love of truth, justice, peace, respect for property, family solidarity, respect for life, freedom, work.
    • They are universal because they are common to all people and are based on human nature, which is universal.
    • This often denotes beliefs of a person or the social group in which they have an emotional investment. So moral values as benchmarks will mean different things to different groups.
    • For example, When we talk about 'change starting with oneself' or even 'Know Thyself', this experiment revealed to me a lot about myself that I had pleviously ignored or covered up. This knowledge of oneself is precious and is often a good starting point. However, knowledge and realisation while being important steps are inadequate in forging deep change because this requires the additional step, that of acting on one's realisations through apology, reconciliation, forgiveness or restitution.
    • Absolute moral standards clarify for anyone who is ready to take the journey of knowing themselves, this being a fundamental requirement for any who wants to be an agent for change by becoming an example through their own living and conduct.
    • Absolute moral principles are based on universal truths about the nature of human beings. There are some things that can go wrong when following moral principles. Below are some examples of how moral principles may not always guide you toward the best course of action.
    • First, it's possible to make judgments about others based on your personal values and not theirs.
  2. Cultural Behavior Values
    • Behavioral values are the inner personal responses or inner personal responses or incentives, which prompt a person to act in a certain way.
    • Cultural values are the modes of conduct of a product of a group or society.
    • Behavioral and cultural values are changeable and internal; they emerge from within man, individually or collectively and lead to the fulfillment of more immediate goals. They are each man’s views, attitudes, or inner senses, emotions, thoughts, motives, experience, and training. They are customs and traditions, which they are expressed lives.
    • As such, teachers who commit themselves to teach often hold specific values that motivate and drive them to dedicate their lives to others.
    • Teachers have a special responsibility to foster values.
    • They encourage people to cultivate and express their own preferences, feelings, ideas, and abilities, and to find meaning in their own uniqueness.
    • Examples of important values in such cultures include broadmindedness, curiosity, and creativity.
  • ‘Embeddedness’ cultures treat people as entities embedded in the collectivity. Meaning in life is expected to come largely through in-group social relationships, through identifying with the group, participating in its shared way of life, and striving toward its shared goals. Embedded cultures emphasize maintaining the status quo and restraining actions that might disrupt in-group solidarity or the traditional order. Important values in such cultures are social order, respect for tradition, security, obedience, and wisdom.
  • Cultural values and norms get transmitted from one generation to another, and the process ensures continuity of traditions within a group of people. Acquisition of a culture is a learned phenomenon that shapes the customs, beliefs, and behavioral conventions of a society as a whole.
  • Cultural values in childrearing practices impact upon the nature and

perception of the parent–child attachment bond.

Value of a Teacher

  • Teaching is one of the most important jobs in our society, as educators play a crucial role in helping to influence learners and shape their good care of barrowed things, views mistakes as learning opportunities upholds and respects the dignity and equality of all including those with special needs, volunteers to assist other times of needs, recognizes and respects people from different economic, social, and cultural backgrounds, cooperates during activities, recognizes and accepts the contribution of others toward a goal, considers diverse views, communicates respectfully, accepts defeat and celebrates others’ success, enables others to succeed, speaks out against and prevents bullying.
  • The core of teaching consists of four basic values: dignity, truthfulness, fairness and responsibility & freedom.
  • All teaching is founded on ethics – whether it be the teacher-student relationship, pluralism or a teacher’s relationship with their work.
  • Dignity means respect for humanity. Teachers must respect every person, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender diversity, appearance, age, religion, social standing, origin, opinions, abilities and achievements.
  • Truthfulness is one of the core values in teachers’ basic task, which involves steering learners in navigating life and their environment. Honesty with oneself and others and mutual respect in all communication is a basic aspect of teachers’ work.
  • Fairness is important both when encountering individual learners and groups but also in the work community. Fairness involves in particular promoting equality and non-discrimination and avoiding favouritism.
  • Teachers are entitled to their own values , but in their work, teachers’ responsibility is tied to their basic task and its standards such as legislation and the curriculum.
