Problem n. 1

Design a high-pass filter adopting impedance and admittance inverters with the following

specifications:

 Cutoff frequency equal to 4 GHz;

 15 dB insertion loss at 2 GHz;

 Maximally flat response;

 Reference impedance equal to 50 Ω.

Draw the transmission line circuit and specify all the characteristics of the transmission lines.

Problem n. 2

Design a band-pass filter using three short circuited resonant λ/4 stub with the following

specifications:

 Band-pass between 3.0 and 3.5 GHz;

 0.5 dB equal ripple response;

 Reference impedance equal to 50 Ω.

Is it possible to realize the filter using microstrip technology, rexolite (εr = 2.54, h = (1/8)’’)

dielectric material, and strip widths between 0.5 and 15 mm?

Problem n. 3

Design the same filter as in problem n. 2 but using coupled lines. Is it possible to realize the filter

using microstrip technology, rexolite (εr = 2.54, h = (1/8)’’) dielectric material, and strip widths

between 0.5 and 15 mm (adopt PUFF to find the microstrip dimensions)?
