VISIT REPORT

Visit : F.Y Civil (Diploma)

Location : 1) Guest Building (Under Construction)

2) New Boys Hostel (Construction Completed)

3) Sharriya College MMANTC. (Construction Completed)

Date : 07th February 2019.

This visit was conducted by MMANTC College of Engineering for F.Y

Civil Diploma students.

All the student has reached at the site around 2:30 PM afternoon. Er.

Abrar (Site Manager) explained different types of material used in construction as

per syllabus.

Some of the material which we have seen during the visit are

elaborate below.

Bricks :-

Bricks are made of clay and chiefly employed in building construction

and architectures compositions.

Bricks

Properties :-

1) First Class :-

The first class bricks are well burnt and proper rectangle shape

and size of sharp edges.

2) Second class :-

The second class bricks are irregular in shape and sizes with edges

are not sharp as sharp as first class.

3) Third class :-

The third class bricks are usually under burnt bricks which are

soft and light in colour.

Uses :-

First class bricks are used in architectural compositions and face work of a

structure.

First and second class bricks are used for all sorts of sound work specially of

permanent nature like constituent of building, bridge , piers , tunnel , lining,

water structures.

Third class bricks are used in temporary or less important work like

compound wall.

2) Aggregates :-

Aggregates provide the concrete with its body and strength and act

of filler material to give the homogeneous mass of concrete along with cement

paste.

Types of Aggregates :-

Mainly two types of aggregates are used in concreting Fine

aggregates and Cores aggregate. Sand comes under the category of fine

aggregate and crushed stone comes under cores aggregate.

3) Tiles :-

Tiles are made from better grade bricks clay. In building construction

they are used for Flooring , Roofing , Paving , Well cladding , and for Drains

 Vetrified tiles

 Ceramic tiles

 Glazed tiles

 Mozaic tiles

3) Paints :-

The paints are the coating at fluid material which are applied as a

fine finish to all surface such as walls , ceiling , wood etc.

Types of Paints :-

There are various types of paints available in market some important

as follows.

Aluminium Paint.

Cement Paint.

Emulsion Paint.

Enamel Paints.

Oil Paints.

Plastic Paint.

Silicate Paints.
