Metal spinning

Metal spinning is either the tensile-compressive forming of a sheet metal to a hollow body or the alteration of hollow bodies perimeter. During this process one part of the tool (spinning mandrel) defines the shape of the workpiece and circulates with the workpiece. The counter tool (spinning tool) operates locally in the partial deformation zone. A change of the wall thickness is not intended. In special occasions one can carry out the process without the spinning mandrel.
