Billena, Felize Ruth P. 3CA2 “VIOLET” Violet has always been FR’s color ever since she was a little girl, but the meaning of the color in her life took a turn when she met this boy in high school. He was her seatmate during freshman year, and in that span of time a lot of things happened between her and her seatmate. After a few weeks succeeding the beginning of the school year, she began speaking to her seatmate. They got to know each other well and they found out that they only had a couple of similarities, like: the interest in anime shows, playing an instrument and liking the color purple, none followed. FR was really disheartened with the realization that my freshman year might be a boring one because she and her seatmate were not the harmoniest of classmates. Surprisingly, they got to know each other more through the months that had passed and, somehow, they kind of got along well. Little did they know, they became the best of friends. She would often stab his leg with a gel-ink pen for no apparent reason as a form of annoyance, in return he would annoy FR by tickling her in her soft spots (this annoyed her very much). The seatmate relationship that they had extended beyond the four walls of the classroom because even in social media he would poke her on facebook to annoy her, but besides poking her he would also often chat with her through the same social networking site. In class, they would also often chat and extend their conversation outside the classroom through the connecting powers of the internet. This went on for the whole freshman year and, eventually, they both got assigned to different sections the following year, thus, the seat-mate relationship seeing it’s end. During sophomore year, their seat-mate relationship blossomed to a romantic relationship and, before she knew it, the relationship that she thought would last a lifetime was cut-short into four years and seven months. Their break up was something FR thought she would never ever overcome. Somehow, deep in her heart, the thought about their story coming to an end lingered for the longest time and at some point FR knew that it would be him who would write the final sentence to end their story. FR was consoling herself that maybe a miracle would happen that would raise the stakes of making their relationship strong enough to make it work and stand the test of time, but FR was wrong. She was wrong about a lot of things, but loving him is and never will be one of them. The color violet played a huge role in their story. It is their favorite color and through that color many memories were made and at the same time forgotten. The issue she associates with the color violet is letting go, not of the person or the feelings, but the memories. It was actually more difficult for FR to let the memories go because she did not want to forget them at all. They are a part of her life and to let them go means letting go of four years and seven months of FR’s life. That is why, after their break up, FR kept torturing myself with the pain that she was feeling. She kept reminding herself of him, and of them, EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. She did not realize that whenever her mind was idle, she would unknowingly think of him, and so when they broke up she would find myself lost in thought with only him in her mind and that in itself was already painful. It brought FR to a point where she did not want to go on with life anymore if all she would be feeling for the rest of her life is the heaviness in her chest that eats her alive, but there’s a little voice inside her that tells her that she shouldn’t be that way; FR shouldn’t be sulking over a boy who did not respect her as a person (because he was cheating on FR for two months) and as a partner. That was when FR decided to learn to live with the memories and the pain while still being okay with it.
