Nowadays, it’s really common talk about feminism since has recently become one of the most significant movements thanks to the concern about gender equality and respect for women. Despite this, it isn’t so up-to-date. Does the name Mary Wollstonecraft mean anything to you? Curiously, this woman should be known by all as one of the most noteworthy, because even though her works didn’t arise interest for a long time and in the 18th century there was still no proper to feminism, she has been absolutely the first campaigner. Furthermore, she managed to achieve substantial results, despite having a difficult life marked by depression. Of all the social issues she’s reflected, there are those regarding the women’s freedom, such as education and independence from men. Moreover, writing about these topics helped her a lot whether to look inward or to overcome her heartbreak. Mary’s most outstanding work “A Vindication of the Rights of Women” has been put to rest until the 20th century, when finally, it has been dug up and brought back to life by many important women, like Virginia Woolf. Unfortunately, still today she doesn’t receive the credit that she should have for fighting against injustice. For this reason, several people don’t even know who she is, although Mary Wollstonecraft is one of the most significant female figures to thank for getting many rights with regard to equality between men and women.
