ENGLISH GRAMMAR
Present Continuos
We use present continuos when we talk about thinks happening in a period around
now, or about changes happening around now. The action is not finished.
Forma: am-is-are + -ing. (I am doing) but some verbs are not action and so we can
not use the form in – ing (know, like, belong, love, etc..)
Present Simple
We use present simple to talk about thinks in general, so when we say about
something happens all the time or is true in general. Is not important that the action is
happening at the time of speaking. We use also with promise or apologise.
Forma: we use he/she/it + -s e do/does to make questions and negative sentences
Past simple
We use past simple to express that an action started and finished at a specific time in
the past, so the action is complete.
Forma: for regular verbs we put –ed at the end. For irregular verbs this last change,
for example write/wrote; see/saw. In questions and negatives we use did/didn’t +
Infinitive. (es. I did).
Past Continuos
We use the past continuos when something happening in the middle of two actions
that are passed, so the action is not finished. We can use it also for say that one thing
happened after anothter.
Forma: was/were + -ing (es. I was doing).
Present perfect
The present perfect is used when we have a connection with now but the action is in
the past, so action is not finished. Is used to give information and also with just, or
ready, yet, today, this morning, etc..
Forma: have/has + past participle (=often ends in –ed but also many verbs are
irregular).
Present perfect continuous (I have been doing)
