IDENTITY WRITTEN
- What is your identity based on?
- How has your identity changed over the last 3 years, refer to your behavior, ideas, and hopes
for the future?
I’ve never thought about what my identity is based on. This is the reason why I am asking myself
what identity means. Thanks to the identity of a subject we can find out who is in front of us. Each
person is different because it has a unique and distinctive story. There are many different aspects that
shape the individual like thought patterns, the way we solve problems and the way we interact with
society.
My parents have different nationalities: my dad is Italian and my mum is Romanian. Unfortunately, I
am not able to speak Romanian because my mum decided to not teach it to me because she believed
that it would have influenced my Italian. Now I would like to learn it because I think this could grow
my identity. In my lifetime I’ve changed but my current identity will be modified in three years. Three
years ago I realized that my personality had been influenced by the school I was taking. In my class,
there were few girls and that influenced my behavior. I started wearing dresses which are considered
for boys like sportswear and hoodies. I also listened to songs that my classmates liked such as rap and
trap; I became an extrovert and I hid my feminine part.
Now I found the courage to be myself: I am confident and ambitious. I try to help others and I am
good at directing team works.
I believe that we have to stay positive, especially at this time. In my opinion, my long brown hair
plays an important role in my identity because I think that a person who doesn’t know me is able to
make an idea of what kind of person I am thanks to it. Another characteristic that sets me apart from
others is my mole which is on the left side of my chin. I used to hate it when I was a child but now I
learn to accept it and now I like it because it makes me special. Last month I went to a piercer and I
got my tongue pierced but I am worried. I love it but I‘m afraid that people will label me as “the girl
with the tongue piercing”. I hope that it won’t happen because I am more than this.
I have many hopes for the future. I hope I’ll find someone who makes me feel happy every day and I
hope I will have a nice family. I know exactly what I want from life and I want to be a successful and
smart woman. I would like to play in an important and essential role in a company, maybe in the
logistics or managing part. To realize this goal I need to attend university and honestly, I can’t wait for
it!
