Part one: how to answer multiple-choice close questions Firstly look at the words surrounding the gap to see if they fit with the answer. Are they part of a phrasal verb, idiom or collocation? Is there a preposition that will only fit with certain words? If you are not sure of the answer, eliminate ones you know are incorrect to narrow it down and give you a better chance. Finally, read through the sentence with the answer to make sure it makes sense, sometimes things are grammatically correct but they dont make sense

Part six: how to answer missing sentence questions Pay attention to the words before and after the gap. Look for any clues that confirm or eliminate a possible answer, remember that there could be more than one way to find the right answer
