Maths and Languages are two different subjects that have many differencies in the way we learn
them, but how about considering also their similarities?
Mathematics is a subject that requires a good logical sense. Everything in math is perfect and
everyone has to follow this perfection. Mathematics is schematic. It works with numbers and
geometric figures. Often people who study mathematics have good knowledge in other scientific
subjects, such as physics or chemistry. Mathematics follows precise, often invariable rules.
Languages work instead on letters, the alphabet, grammar, syntax and pronunciation. The aim of
languages is communication between people, including those from many parts of the world. A
language allows you to learn about the culture of a country, its history, and the lives of people
around the world.
Concerned to the similarities, we can say that mathematics is somehow a language. Both subjects
can be interdisciplinary, we can study them in different fields. Both mathematics and languages
allow us to acquire good knowledge, which we could be needed for a future job.
In conclusion, everyone could have difficulties in studying both subjects, but everyone knows their
skills. Mathematics and Languages can fascinate people in different ways. It's up to people to
recognize what subject is the best for them, also for their future.
