English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the
English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist.
Plot:
the story's set in Verona and tells about the love story between Romeo
Montague and }uliet Capulet. Their families are rivals. Romeo and Juliet meet
at a party given by ford Gapulet to which Romeo haîn't been invited. They fall
in love and that night in the famous balcony scene they exchange vows. They
are secretly married the next day by Friar Laurence.
Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, is angry that Romeo went to the party
uninvited and he wants to punish him, They quarrel and fight. Romeo is withlis
friend Mercutio and Mercutio is killed during the fight. Romeo avenges him by
killing tybalt. For this he is banished from Verona by the prince. Romeo follows
friar Laurence’s advice and goes to live in Mantua until his marriage with
Juliet can be proclaimed publicly.
Juliet is very sad and her parents think she is crying about her cousin'’s
death. They want her to marry her suitor, count Paris to make her feel beeter
but she refuses. Her father is very angry about this. Juliet asks help toffriar
Laurence because she can't marry count Paris. FriapXr Laurence has a plan:
Juliet will drink a poison that will make her seem dead for 42 hours. Everyone
will think her dead, they will bury her and when she wakes up she can run
away to Romeo . The plan seems perfect, Juliet takes the poison she is
buried but no-one tells Romeo About the plan. He onlly knew that she had
died. He goes to her grave and kills himself with a knife. Juliet Wakes up and
kills her-self.
Characters
