A Positive Work Environment - My Experience at Farnell
KS
Waking up in the morning and going to a job you don’t like, where you may
have problems with your colleagues, is very frustrating. So you need to
feel good at your workplace. Everyone wants a good working environment,
right?
I am pleased to say, that during my internship at Farnell in the UK, I had
the opportunity to experience a work environment that truly values its
employees' well-being. The five characteristics of a positive work
environment that are outlined in the announcement are reflected in many
aspects of the company culture, and I would like to share how these
factors contributed to my experience.
At Farnell, communication was always clear and transparent. Regular
meetings were held to update the team on company developments and
projects. This open communication guaranteed a sense of trust and
ensured everyone was on the same page, helping us to perform our tasks
more efficiently.
One must not neglect to mention, that the company recognized the
importance of a good work-life balance. I was encouraged to manage my
time effectively and was never overwhelmed with excessive tasks, due to
the opportunity to work on my tasks in my tempo, even though I had a
time limit. This allowed me to stay grounded with my private life while still
fulfilling my professional responsibilities in my job.
Moreover, Farnell provided abundant opportunities for personal growth. I
participated in various training sessions that helped me develop both hard
skills and soft skills. The company’s focus on employee development made
me feel supported and motivated to perform my best.
Throughout my job I noticed a strong sense of teamwork. My colleagues
were always ready to collaborate, sharing knowledge, and helping each
other. This team spirit not only made my work-day more enjoyable but also
allowed us to achieve better results together.
