Since the beginning of time, warfare has played a significant role in the history of humanity (Wrangham and Peterson,1996). Wars led to the establishment of international regulations governing behavior in conflicts and significantly advanced international law, international norms surrounding conflict, and the institutions designed to deal with them, such as the United Nations, Security Council, International Tribunal, and International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. By enhancing communication, fostering humanitarian cooperation, fostering military-civilian dialogue, offering crucial services to civilian populations, and encouraging all actors to uphold and implement the principles of international humanitarian law, these international organizations lessen the risk of war between belligerents. Conflict risk reduction, crisis prevention, and conflict mitigation measures are the three categories into which international organizations are working to prevent wars, (Stares & Zenko, 2011). International organizations support and carry out risk reduction measures such as minimizing the effects of specific threats, such as limiting the development of destabilizing weapon systems or arms transfers that may result in regional power imbalances; limiting the potential influence of dangerous nonstate actors; and minimizing the potential adverse effects of anticipated demographic, economic, and environmental change. On the other hand, crisis prevention activities are conducted by international organizations in anticipation that relations between two states or the situation within a country could deteriorate catastrophically and devolve into violent conflict. These may consist of coercive measures as well as cooperative ones, such as diplomatic persuasion and mediation, economic assistance and incentives, legal arbitration, and military support, diplomatic condemnation and isolation, various economic sanctions, legal action, preventive military deployments, and threats of punitive action. Then lastly, if earlier preventive efforts fail to have the desired effect or violence erupt with little or no warning, many of the same basic measures and techniques can be employed to manage and mitigate the crisis. Among them are initiatives aimed at the disputing parties to encourage collaborative dispute resolution and alter their incentive systems to encourage peaceful resolutions. The United Nations and regional organizations have on various occasions carried out conflict reduction initiatives. War is a present fact of worldwide existence. It is crucial to work toward preventing conflict and fostering peace. Though the international law and international institutions have not been perfect in preventing wars, they have had some positive benefits, especially when it comes to humanitarian assistance. Maybe what should be deepened is in the context of the evolving great-power competition. What the world desires is a happy place where love and joy can be found that is attained through world peace.
