Report on students’ opinions towards chosen
facilities at the OTH
Terms of reference
The aim of this report is to evaluate the opinion of students on the eating facilities and the library
facility at the OTH and to make a recommendation for future actions if needed.
Introduction
In Germany, universities and higher education facilities offer students several facilities and services to
provide a space enhancing their personal growth, academic achievements and self-fulfilment. With
entrancing the campus, students enter an environment which is designed to support their academic
pursuits and their entire well-being. The cores of these environments contain basic facilities and
services like dinning facilities or library facilities. These facilities not only enhance productivity (2022)
but a sense of community and belonging among the students. Conditions of these facilities may vary;
therefore, this report attempts to depict the actual conditions at the OTH.
Information gathering
While working together in the library, 4 European Business Studies students have been asked about
their opinion about the eating and library facilities at the Ostbayerischen Technischen Hochschule.
The results of the interviews were documented for the purposes of the report.
Findings
Eating facilities:
- The OTH offers not just a big cafeteria, but many food kiosks, which are spread around the
campus
- Students are pleased by the variation they can choose from (meat, vegetarian, vegan)
- According to students the foods are greatly affordable in comparison to other food spots in
walking distance around the campus
- Students applause the transparency of ingredients of the foods so they can look for allergens
