The diagram shows the movement of some hailstones in a cloud.
The density of an object can be determined by
using the formula mass/volume. To determine the
density of a hailstone, we must first find the mass
by using a scale and then to find the volume a
eureka can can be used. A eureka can is filled with
water and the object is placed in it, the volume of
the hailstone is the amount of water displaced or
forced through the spout. Now that we know both
the mass and the volume we divide the mass by the
volume to get the final density.
