Self for me is an asset of humans to do all things we want. To get our unlimited wants, body and mind is
needed to unite each other to turn ideas into action. As Merleau Ponty said, mind and body can’t be
separated, they are connected and benefit each other. Mind is the processor of wants, questions, and
decisions that commands the body to turn this into action. Self-exploration is inescapable because we
have a mind to think, the same in the idea of Rene Descartes. This is a foundation of fact that we exist in
this world. Similar to the idea of David Hume that knowledge is based on experiences, I believed that we
can’t explain deeply a thing if we are not direct witnesses. Exploration leads to experiences that serve as
a journey and way to improve ourselves because our body is imperfect like Socrates said. Our world
creator is the only perfect to me. I agree on St. Augustine of Hippo idea, we are sinful beings capable of
doing mistakes, but for me, we need to learn, not repeat this mistake, and always do our best to be
good person.
