Don't miss anything!

There are a lot of things in this world that we think will satisfy us and will give us joy. Satisfaction is dripping through every moment of life, if you know the art of squeezing it. There are so many moments of gratification in a day. You feel thirsty, you drink water. Can anything match the satisfaction felt after the thirst is quenched? Tantra says "Forget the water, forget the thirst – just remain with the subtle satisfaction that you are feeling. Be filled with it".
Eternal satisfaction, as I see it, is a fulfillment of desires, and the feeling of satisfaction is simply a side effect of that fulfillment. Which means that it is quite possible for us to feel satisfied without having real satisfaction, if we are only under the illusion that our desires are being satisfied. We go on missing satisfying moments because we are interested in quantity. We are interested in how to get more rich – in quantity, not in quality. We can have two houses and five cars, a huge bank account, a collection of imported things.
For me achieving Eternal satisfaction is when you discover your purpose in life. As a child, children are very satisfied with the things that they have- toys, and other things that amuse them. As you get older, those things are less amusing to you throughout the course of your life and you find more fulfillment in things that are less tangible instead of physical items that make you feel good or do things for you or entertain you. You become a little bit more spiritual and existential, if you are wise enough to attain that kind of level.
To attain this eternal satisfaction It had to come from experience, simply because a child’s eyes aren’t as wide to various perspectives as an young adult or as an older adult. The older you get, the more wisdom you should attain- if that matters to you. If it doesn’t matter to you then you’ll never reach any other level other than “how many things can I have to amuse me and what does it takes to get those things?”. So, it’s a matter of experience as well as education as well. I sought to be as educated as I could and at all costs, I wanted satisfaction and I was taught that satisfaction would come through education first and foremost and so that’s what I did. And I continue to do that- each day, I continue to try and learn something new.
Achieving goals may provide fleeting moments of satisfaction, but true contentment comes from the individual’s inside and spreads outward. When a person finds meaning in life, it connects with values and morality, not a particular salary, career, or position in society because these things can change, while morality is from the inside out, so it doesn’t. And for me that is how you can achieve eternal satisfaction.
