OPEN SCIENCE

ChemRxiv

ChemRxiv is a free submission, distribution, and archive service for unpublished preprints in chemistry and related areas. Introduced in 2017, ChemRxiv now hosts over 20,000 preprints. It is co-owned and collaboratively managed by the American Chemical Society, the Chinese Chemical Society, the Chemical Society of Japan, the German Chemical Society, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. Authors have the opportunity to put their research articles immediately online and share with scientists and colleagues prior to formal peer review. chemrxiv.org

SciMeetings

SciMeetings showcases emerging research from ACS events. It increases the visibility, reach, and impact of research by providing permanent storage of posters and presentations. Presenters who add SciMeetings to their ACS event registration will also earn a DOI and an open access license for their poster or presentation. SciMeetings is the official repository for all ACS events, and allows researchers to extend the longevity of posters and presentations beyond the event. scimeetings.acs.org Discover

ACS Editors’ Choice

Based on recommendations from ACS journal editors around the world, a panel of ACS editors selects and makes free to read one article daily that exemplifies the ACS commitment to improving people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry. ACS AUTHORING SERVICES

Since 2014, ACS Publications’ Authoring Services has helped thousands of authors prepare their manuscripts with English language editing, translation, figure services, and more. In 2022, the website was refreshed with new services, including graphical abstract and poster preparation, enhanced customer support, and websites dedicated to China, Japan, Korea and Latin America. Staffed by experienced researchers, Authoring Services is designed to help improve and polish manuscripts to boost the likelihood of publication and maximize the impact of the work. ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication

Supplementary Journal Cover Discount

All ACS Journals offer a great way to promote new research with supplementary journal covers. Artwork can be uploaded alongside revised manuscripts for consideration for a front cover or one of four supplementary covers per issue. Front cover costs are fully covered by ACS. Green & Sustainable Chemistry Education

The vision of ACS GCI for the future of chemistry education is one that equips and inspires chemists to help solve the grand challenges of sustainability. We believe chemistry education must include concepts such as systems thinking, and contexts such as the UN Sustainable Developments Goals, together with the principles of green and sustainable chemistry and engineering. This approach involves bringing together educators and other stakeholders to integrate these concepts into the existing chemistry curriculum. To this end, ACS GCI is working with educators to develop new high-quality educational modules for general and organic chemistry courses. For green chemistry practitioners at all levels, ACS GCI offers a variety of resources, awards, webinars, and special programs to improve the understanding and application of green chemistry principles, alternatives, and practices. ACS GCI also hosts an annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (see page 14, GC&E Conference).

ACS Campaign for a Sustainable Future

This strategic initiative initiated by the ACS Board of Directors in 2022 provides leadership in advancing chemistry innovations to address the challenges articulated in the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. ACS REGIONAL MEETINGS

ACS also sponsors regional meetings throughout the U.S. that reflect the diverse professional interests in specific geographic areas. Regional meetings generally feature three to four days of technical programming where attendees can present papers, network with colleagues, and attend workshops, as well as special programming for high school teachers and undergraduate students. Several regional meetings offer expositions featuring both commercial and academic exhibitors. There are also various awards presented at these meetings including the Division of Chemical Education Regional Award for Excellence in High School Teaching, Partners for Progress and Prosperity, and the Stanley C. Israel Regional Award for Advancing Diversity in the Chemical Sciences. ACS Matters Weekly Newsletter
