ACTIVITY 2: PSYCHOLOGICAL SELF ( 70 points)
Answer the following:
1. What is Psychological Healing?*
Psychological healing is part of the cooperative processes associated with
evolutionary fitness. The word psychological derives from the Greek phrase
"nursing the soul." Some of the difficulty arises because we cannot locate the
soul and its healing in the same way that we can deal with a sliver enlarged in a
finger. "To make whole" is an old definition of the word heal. Healing is about
nurturing the soul and making it whole.
2. How can pain be transformed into beauty?
I wasn't being honest with myself as I spent a lot of time trying to maintain a
constant state of happiness and peace. I came to understand that I was
depriving my soul of all the feelings, emotions, and desires it ought to have. I
believe that by repressing negative emotions like pain, fear, and uncertainty, we
are removing the shading from our own image. By not allowing the contrasts and
shadows, we are depriving ourselves of the full beauty of the scene. When we
acknowledge that every emotion and change we experience is necessary, they
all become priceless and add to the contrasted beauty of our lives. The pain will
pass, and the aching emptiness that is consuming your heart will be changed
into something beautiful.
Give at least 5 different ways of transforming pain into beauty.
Explain your answer.*
1. Turn your sorrow into creativity - The most adept at expressing our pain in ways
that touch and uplift us are artists. Someone's suffering gave rise to some of the
most incredible works of art, including dance, poetry, literature, films, and paintings.
And as someone who frequently expresses their grief through art, it really helped me
get through it and rediscover my passion.
2. Share your pain.- When my heart is broken, I personally yearn for solitude, walks
by the water, and poetry books. Although they help promote healing, self-reflection
and mindfulness alone are insufficient. Until I share my suffering with others, I can't
really heal. When in pain, isolation is a common reaction, but if it lasts too long, it can
be harmful. It is healing and necessary to speak up and break your isolation.
3. Vulnerability - In contrast to post-traumatic stress, post-traumatic growth is not a
negative experience. As a matter of fact, stress acts as the growth's fuel. Suffering
must be experienced first before it can be overcame. A smiley-face Band-Aid cannot
make the pain go away when applied to a raw wound. Vulnerability and the
acceptance of the wounds lead to growth. Teaching survivors how to express
themselves honestly, face their fears, and ask for assistance is a significant
component of the training.
4. Pray or meditate every day with intention - Once you've identified your
essence, you must confirm its veracity and develop a close relationship with yourself
in order to fully understand who you are. To concentrate on solutions rather than
problems, try to become aware and present. Let your prayer and meditation serve as
a constant reminder of who you are and why you are here, inspiring you to truly serve
others.

5.Discover your purpose - Pray or meditate every day with intention. Once you've identified your essence, you must confirm its veracity and develop a close relationship with yourself in order to fully understand who you are. 4. Explain: “Behind every beautiful thing, there’s some kind of pain.” Bob Dylan - Emotional pain can be transformed into something beautiful.  Without suffering one would not appreciate joy. Happiness is not a standalone emotion. Happiness is a comparing emotion. A person's current level of happiness is compared to their previous level of sadness. In proportion to how depressed you are, how happy you are. Without sadness, happiness is meaningless. Ironically, a person's ability to reach the highest levels of happiness is frequently limited by their fear of emotional sadness. 5. Can artists help heal communities? Explain your answer.  A significant path to healing is any of the expressive arts therapies. Trauma, as well as a variety of other emotions and experiences, can be beautifully expressed through art. You don't have to be a skilled artist, though; in arts psychotherapy, anyone can produce a work of art that has a significant meaning for them personally. Also present to aid in the processing of the work is the therapist. Through the arts, we have the chance to better understand one another's viewpoints and even our own. They help us develop our own identities and provide fresh perspectives on life. They also help us appreciate life in a way that is more profound than what words alone can convey. 6. If you are an artist, how can you help heal your community?  As an artist, I'll start by leading webinars or seminars on coping with or overcoming mental health issues if I want to give back to the community. I'll describe art as a means for people to express their emotions and make their voices or unspoken thoughts heard. **7. For your own therapy, what are the exercises that you think will make your heart and spirit sing? Give at least 5 therapies and explain the art of doing these.

  1. Draw or paint your emotions**. In this exercise, you’ll focus entirely on painting what you’re feeling. Since words have a limit and we need to express ourselves, we want to draw or paint our emotions. We express because we have to, but we also do so because we want to be understood, validated, and paid attention to. Sometimes it's really challenging to understand, which is why art exists. 2. Put together a journal. Journals don’t have to just be based around words. You can make an art journal as well, that lets you visually express your emotions. When everything seems chaotic, keeping a journal can help you bring order to your world. By disclosing your most private anxieties, ideas, and feelings, you come to know
