r QUICK QUERY: What were your general criteria on selecting your answers?

Why did you consider such guides? My general criteria in selecting my answers are:

  1. The question in no.1 is about how to know if you are pregnant. The only possible answer to the options is the fastest way by using the prenancy test. The pregnancy test is done by scientists and it is the only one that is best suited to the options and by that, you will know if you are really pregnant.
  2. In verifying news, among the choices, see a news website is always the best choice. But sometimes, news website maybe deceiving, especially when it comes to headlines. So, better read the article also. News website is very reliable in some way, but they are the first authority who produce “news”. The news website is very reliable but not always because sometimes, they are politically biased if the company they have is owned by the government (that's just when it comes to politics).
  3. In knowing the location of the place, I think it’s better to use google map. Because, let’s say for an instance that we don’t know any person in the locality (though it may be a good thing to do), at least you can buy a load then search for the location, then it’s done. You can also see the streets in 360 degrees experience and walk like you’re really in the place.
  4. The choices in question no. 4 are all correct, but for me, the best thing to ask about something is the authority that has experience and has knowledge of it itself. You can directly ask questions that advertisements or radio staions doesn’t contain or know. In that case also, you can have a legit answers to your questions.
  5. There are 2 possible answers in no. 5, but for me visiting or going to a market is the best answer. It is better to buy something that you can see and touch it physically because if you are in an e commerce app, you may be fooled or deceived "expectation vs. reality" that is. But in this time of pandemic, e-commerce app is commendable for me. But since we are under the new normal where classes are being held online, E- Commerce app is applicable (only this time of crisis). For me, I consider these as my guides. It helps me to weigh things and think critically. They may be common sense, because if you don’t know the answer and the choices are not quite appropriate to the answer, then you can eliminate those and filter the correct answer.

Nationals

  1. Senior Superintendent Nelson Yabut - SWAT Police & AFP
  2. Philippine Health Secretary Enrique Ona
  3. Hong Kong Chief Executive Tsang
  4. Local Media / Mass Media Key socio-political themes discussed The social injustice present in the country. Rolando Mendoza didn't have the chance to have a fair trial due to poverty and unemployment. Points-of-view expressed Second and Third point-of-view (Omniscient) Personal values/ biases revealed

“BIG MISTAKE TO CORRECT. A BIG WRONG

DECISION.”

The ombudsman’s decision is unfair because Rolando Mendoza was being extorted. He didn’t have the chance to have a fair trial so hostage taking turns up to be a protest to have a fast-track a review of his administrative case. He was removed to service unjustly. Suspected errors or misleading statements “Philippine Health Secretary Enrique Ona said eight hostages had died. Earlier, Hong Kong Chief Executive Tsang, citing China’s Foreign Ministry, said seven Hong Kong residents were killed, two severely wounded and the remaining six hospitalized.” Is the source reliable? Explain. Yes, the source is reliable. Reuters is a worldwide agency like NY Times and has its branch here in Philippines. The news article shows a photo presenting the actual footage of the hostage-taking. The details are factual and statements are based on the persons people with sufficient knowledge of what happened. Like the witness’ statements, authorities’ stament from HK, suspect’s statement when he was arrested and our authorities’ here in the Philippines are all presented in the article. Is the source useful? Explain. Yes, because the news headline is connected to the body and the main/supproting details are factual. We can now validate the news we got from others (who/which are not reliable like chismis or fake news). It reveals also the current state (of that time) of the Philippines where we can now learn from it just like how the HK Chief Executive’s decsription on how it was handled. What can be learned from the document? The news article provides information on the historic manila hostage crisis. Researchers will find out about the manila hostage crisis what happened then and what is the reason why Ronaldo Mendoza hosted. Aside from that, Philippines learned how to handle situations like that. Source become a story where we can now go back to it

from any time. It awakened also the system when it comes to justice.
