Telangana government launches digital portal for MSMEs
• The State government launched a digital business networking portal for MSMEs - Telangana State
GlobalLinker (ts-msme.globallinker.com) - to digitise over 2.3 million MSMEs of the State. The solution
aims to address key challenges faced by MSMEs with the core objective of making their business growth -
simpler, more profitable and enjoyable.
• Telangana State GlobalLinker will provide MSMEs - a digital profile (including an online product
catalogue an eCommerce store), access to global networking opportunities to find buyers & suppliers,
economies of scale on a wide range of business services, access to industry news, articles and discussions.
PFC to lend Rs. 30,000 crore to Telangana irrigation schemes
• State-owned public sector undertaking Power Finance Corporation has agreed to extend another credit
line of Rs. 30,000 crore to Telangana to help complete some of the major ongoing irrigation projects,
including Kaleshwaram, Sita Rama and Palamuru-Rangareddy schemes. PFC has extended loans of
over Rs. 40,000 crore to ongoing power and irrigation projects in Telangana. The break-up shows Rs.
23,000 crore has been extended for various power projects, including Yadadri and Rs. 17,000 crore for
electro-mechanical works of irrigation projects.
FeFA Girls Inititiative - A New Collaborative Project with ICRISAT partnered with
Telangana Govt
• FeFA (Iron for Adolescent Girls), a new initiative to address malnutrition among adolescents was
launched.
• Through this project, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and the International Crops Research
Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) will work in partnership with the Government of Telangana
to address these important issues. FeFA Girls includes two components: i) to establish diet-based
approaches for improvement in haemoglobin and iron status in adolescent girls, and ii) to generate
scientific evidence on nutritional benefits of groundnut and pearl millet (ICRISAT mandate crops) on
human health. The initiative will target girls in the age group of 16 to 19 years from social welfare hostels in
Telangana.
Ola signs MoU with Telangana government to implement smart traffic solutions in
Hyderabad
• Ola, one of the world’s largest ride-hailing platforms, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
with the Government of Telangana, to support their efforts towards strengthening the traffic infrastructure
in Hyderabad city
• Under the partnership, Ola share intelligent insights that enable the Government to implement smart
solutions to enhance the mobility experience in the city. The first pilot project proposed to be implemented
is the dynamic mapping of the ride quality of major roads in Hyderabad through Ola vehicles
