What is a Permutation?

A permutation is an arrangement, or listing, of objects in which the order is important.

Permutation is used when we are counting without replacement and the order matters.

nPr

The formula to solve

permutations is P(n,r)= n!

where,

n is the total number of

objects in the set

P is the number of

permutations, and

r is the number of choosing

objects from the set.

Factorial

In math the explanation mark

means factorial.

An example is 3! = 3x2x1=

Also the value of 0! is 1

5!= 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1=

6!= 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1=
