May cause eye, skin, and respiratory tract irritation. Harmful if swallowed.
Immediate medical attention should not be required. Treat symptomatically.
Material is not flammable. Use extinguishing media appropriate for material in surrounding fire.
SPECIFIC HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE CHEMICAL: Thermal decomposition will generate toxic and corrosive ammonia gas and oxides of nitrogen.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND PRECAUTIONS FOR FIRE-FIGHTING: Wear NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus to protect against any release of toxic and/or irritating fumes. Skin and eye protection should also be provided. Use water-spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool, and to knock down vapors and gases.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Where required, use a NIOSH-approved respirator for dust, mist, and /or ammonia, as conditions indicate. Some exposures may require a NIOSH- approved self-contained breathing apparatus or supplied-air respirator. Equipment selection depends on contaminant type and concentration. Select in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134 and good industrial hygiene practice.
