If someone asked you about it, what would you say? assess - (Second Step) Is it a useful source? How does it compare to other sources in your bibliography? Is the information reliable? is this source biased or objective? What is the goal of this source? reflect - (Third Step) Once you've summarized and assessed you need to ask how it fits into your research. Was this source helpful? How does it shape your argument? How can you use this source in your research project? Has it changed how you think about your topic? MLA - what format do we write this bibliography in? Why make an annotated bibliography? - Great way to prepare for a research project. Collecting sources is useful, but when you write an annotated bibliography it forces you to read each source carefully. You have to read critically instead of gathering information. Every research paper needs a thesis, by reading and responding to multiple sources you gain perspective on what is being said about your topic. other can use it as reference as well. How long is an annotation? - 3 - 5 senteces What are the three steps? - Step one is to summarize, next is to assess, and last is to reflect.
