The purpose of this article was to find how maternal and paternal parenting effects children academically.A study was conducted involving a questionnaire for the mothers’ fathers and teachers. Based on the answers the researchers organized their findings. Their main findings were that children who experienced physical punishment, no limit parenting and lack of consistency at home tended to have low academic performance.They also found that mothers have more of an impact on their child’s academic performance then fathers. Child with consistence and involved mothers seemed to perform better accidentally. This will help me realize that teaching parents to set limits and be consistence at home and in school will help their children with their academic achievement. Kavita, A., & Singh, T. (2019). The purpose of this article was to determine the most popular parenting styles used by parents of children under the age of 5. 200 families with children under the age of 5 were interviewed to determine parenting styles. The main findings were that majority of the parents used authoritative parenting and authoritarian parenting style was the least likely to be used.
