Lab 3: Projectile Motion - Finding Initial Velocity and Trajectory, Summaries of Physics

In this lab, students will investigate projectile motion by finding the initial velocity of a projectile and verifying that it follows a parabolic trajectory. Equipment includes a receptor pad, meter stick, plastic ball, smart timer, smart gate, and a projectile launcher. Students will record the time the ball takes to travel between two gates and use this data to calculate the initial velocity and predict the value of acceleration due to gravity.
