Books much more deeply explore the history of the formation of Tom Riddle in the ruthless Voldemort. According to the movie version, the dark lord is just an orphan with a craving for evil. However, the novels show that his fate is incredibly complex and creepy.
Despite the fact that both the book and the film did an excellent job, showing almost identical scenes, one small detail was still changed. In the sixth novel of the series, Dumbledore actually stunned Potter when Draco Malfoy entered the astronomical tower, followed by the Death Eaters, led by Bellatrix Lestrange. In the film, Albus merely ordered the boy to hide, and he complied with the decree of the director of the school of sorcery.
In the novels, readers could understand why Auntie hated magic so much, and therefore Harry and his mother, because they were both born wizards. At a young age, when it became clear that Lily Evans (Potter's mother) was going to Hogwarts, her sister also wanted to go to Hogwarts.
