2. The importance of team dynamics in the success and/or failure of group work Feeling alienated in a group can have a negative impact on anyone's mental health and performance at work. Being a part of a team with a common goal provides the sense of accomplishment needed. Employees, on the other hand, must feel the impact of their job on their team and connect with others in order to be driven. When employees are happy at work, their productivity and efficiency rise automatically. Figure 2: Illustration for the importance of team dynamics Furthermore, when team motivation is at its peak, it boosts creativity, production, and efficiency. Organizations rely on collaboration to achieve their objectives. Improving team relationships frequently leads to increased job results, employee happiness, and revenues. P a g e | 3

For example:

  • The success of the sci-fi film Avatar; it was released more than ten years ago, yet its appeal is undeniable. Its success can be attributed to the producer's broad vision and the hard work of the CGI team and performers. The CGI team created their own picture creation tools in order to create blue giants, animals, and plants on a completely alien planet. They were able to provide the audience with an entirely new experience as a result of their efforts.
  • As I previously stated, they worked extremely well; the crew's leader and each individual's growth efforts during the film's production are absolutely admirable. As a result, the film they created immediately became famous all over the world. Figure 4: Avatar 2.2. The influence of team dynamics on failure: We frequently see teamwork fail due to: loss of solidarity among team members, less communication with each other, and delegating jobs and responsibilities to others. And because most people in the group are focused on their own interests rather than the success of the entire group, the connection of everyone in the group eventually fades, and group disputes emerge. P a g e | 5

Figure 5: Teamwork fail Those are just the side reasons that come from individuals in the group, and here are the main reasons why teamwork fails: Lack of a Defined Purpose and Objectives: The team struggles when there are no clear aims and objectives. The fundamental reason for poor performance is a lack of understanding of what has to be done and why it is necessary. Figure 6: Lack of a Defined Purpose and Objectives P a g e | 6

Inability to deal with risks: Failure to manage risks will halt productivity and morale, or worse. It might become a struggle for control rather than being perceived as a distinction. When handled correctly, it may be a source of innovation and relationship deepening. Figure 9: Risks Lack of focus on creativity: Creativity may be limited, but it cannot be ignored. Team members should be innovative on their own and be willing to take risks as a result of their originality. When mistakes occur, they are viewed as learning experiences. Figure 10: Idea loading P a g e | 8

Overcoming these obstacles is not simple, but it is attainable. Teams are an effective means of achieving objectives and boosting morale. They can exceed any group of individuals and do more to release creativity and grow skills than individuals working alone when managed well. For example:

  • The newly released Buzz Lightyear film is regarded as one of Disney's least popular. Although it is well recognized and well received, Buzz Lightyear just cannot compete with the company's earlier features.
  • This is because the director was unable to produce a coherent script, and the plot of the picture is not totally tailored to a specific age group. It's not a movie for children because the plot is too intricate, and the characters even discuss time travel theories. This is not something that young toddlers can easily grasp. However, it is not because the words and actions of the characters are too infantile that this is a film for adults.
  • The film became Disney's least lucrative feature because the filmmaker was unable to take a comprehensive view and lacked innovation and leadership. Figure 11: Buzz Lightyear 3. In my group I'm fortunate to be part of a good team. My team's performance was initially poor because no one had adequately defined a goal and was not committed to achieving it. We even quarreled because of each individual's enormous ego in the group, so after the experience of failing teamwork, I grabbed every chance to set goals and explain to members what they needed to do. C. WORK WITHIN A TEAM TO ACHIVE A DEFINED GOAL (P6)

1. Working steps to achieve the set goal

  • Determine the goal the whole team needs to aim for: team members must discuss with each other to talk about the goal and make a specific plan to achieve that goal. This plan should be made into a table, it is like a division of tasks for each person in the team, each person will take on a different role to speed up the team's work.
  • Update the situation regularly: The team leader should update the team's situation regularly because it may occur some risks or conflicts in the working process and need someone to take the stand. The status update is also considered as a reference to the team members' opinions on the work, the captain is responsible for absorbing those ideas and discussing it with them at a team meeting.. This is also a way for everyone in the group to stay united.
  • Development of working skills: team members should continuously develop their teamwork skills to be able to achieve the best efficiency during project implementation. This really helps not only for the success of the team but also for themselves later on. 2. Introduction of my group work The work that our team had to do was create a plan to deploy an e-commerce project within 5 days. From the first day to the fourth day, we will have a meeting to discuss the plan to prepare for the fifth day. On the fifth day, we will implement the project, then evaluate and analyze when it is finished. Finally, each member of my team will divide the days of that planner and make a power point slide to present. Figure 12: Group work P a g e | 11

3. My role in the group work My team has 3 people, I will be in charge of planning for day 4 and day 5, another person in the team will do day 2 and 3 and the team leader will do day 1 and take data from me and the rest to make make a complete plan sheet on Excel. It sounds simple, but I've also tweaked the 4th and 5th day plans over and over again to fit the rest of the days. But it's not just me, the other 2 members also have to edit the plan they are in charge of to match the teacher's requirements and the goals that we have set. 4. Result of group work Although there were conflicts and problems during teamwork, we tried to solve it together so that we could achieve the goal that my team wanted. At first, the group's presentation on days 1 and 2 didn't seem to be what the teacher wanted, but from day 3 on, things went pretty well. We learned from the failures of days 1 and 2 and then tweaked the rest of the plan to make our presentation better. And as expected, our presentation that day was relatively good, everyone on the team was quite pleased with the result. We have used all the skills we need to be able to work well together.
